release

is it just me or does it seem odd that brink should be pushing pre-order content when the game is set to be released 7 months from now? maybe they have plans for an earlier release date than 2011 and maybe world peace will be announced and we’ll throw all our weapons away…

Or they need the moneys!!!

I don’t think Bethesda will be running out of money any time soon.

I don’t think they’re pushing it or being greedy. It’s been so long since the game was announced and it’s still a long time 'till it gets released, so I think they’re a reminding people of them

quakecon?

Yeah, with Quakecon and Gamescom running back to back there are going to be a ton of articles, interviews, and even some new info and announcements for the game. I would guess that after these shows wrap up it will be pretty quiet for a while again until a beta/demo announcement (if they have any) and then release approach. When you have mass amounts of game media and players around these events already it would be dumb to ignore the chance to get your game out there now when there is a good opportunity.

Waiting sucks but I would rather be waiting with articles to read and videos to watch than being in the dark with no idea about the game. Red Faction Armageddon is in a similar release window and they are easily pushing as much info as Brink right now, and that isn’t even a new IP.
