Release Date
Well I still want to watch gameplay vids, but knowing I won’t be able to play the game this year, my hype level is close to zero.
Really, really disappointed.
Oh well, i only hope there will be more game info(big info) releast in the couple of months than the past 12 months!
But i`m setting my hype on a hold for a couple of months.
I do think it`s the best thing to do considering the big competition in fall/winter time.
Thanks…
I have to say, I would prefer it if SD was a bit more up front about the delay towards the community instead of just pretending the ‘Fall 2010’ never existed. Blizzard used to be like that as well when they did stuff that wouldn’t be received well by the community but they changed for the better and actually treat their fans like people. They anticipate the friction and try their best to explain their decision. Such transparency really suits A-level companies.
It’s just excellent communication:

ugghhhh this drought in the gaming industry for the last past year or so is crap, and now its going to continue more…
So did they give any reasons to why they delayed it so much? I guess it’s because they don’t want to go up against Crysis 2, Black Ops, Bad Company 2 expansion and Medal of Honor…
Well I can’t think of another reason to push the release date back for almost a year, 2-3 months before the game was supposed to be finished. If they knew about it, that was certainly the wrong place to announce it. You biggest news at E3 is that the game is delayed? Wow, harsh. Not to mention that this is the second delay I am aware of for this title. If it’s not done, don’t announce release dates/periods. I’d rather take a “when it’s done” than constant delays. This is only hurting them, imo.
Spring 2011
oh well. Whatever the reason, SD will have a lot of time to polish it up. That’s always good. The demo they showed on G4 looked great, btw, but it looks like there were slight frame rate issues. Or it just could have been my tv.
haven’t you noticed how the release date for this game isn’t “when it’s done”, or “we don’t know”, or “as soon as we finish such and such a thng, we’ll let you know”?
The first release date was Spring 2010. Not “when it’s done”.
I kind of find it odd, but I admit that they probably haven’t finished the game yet, and the release dates are just fillers to get people hyped up. Well I am not falling for that again. I’d rather not waste my time thinking about a game beyond my grasp. Only when the game comes out, will I think about it.
The RtCW and W:ET multiplayer gameplay that SD carried into ETQW is my favorite style bar none. Sadly, much as I love SD’s work, ETQW was delayed long past its prime with obvious feature creep, and now it appears the same thing is happening to Brink. My interest just fell completely off the table.
I wouldn’t go that far. Yeah, it stinks that it was delayed again, but it’s not like there are any shooters coming out between now and Spring 2011 that will completely take away my attention.
I mean, COD Black Ops? Been there, done that.
There are a LOT of shooters between their supposed 9/7/2010 date (or just fall in general) and their new spring 2011 date. They run the risk of jumping into an oversaturated market at the tail end of a ton of shooter releases by the time they even get their game out the door. If they hit their original window they would have had far less competition in the marketplace.
I completely agree with TheNewMath’s post above. Having your big announcement/showing at E3 be a delay is terrible, hardly the best use of the publicity of the event.
me wants Diablo 3 already!
