Release Date

(Icemonkeyjr) #1

I would like to start by saying, i am allready a massive brink fan even though its not out yet. The game looks so brilliant and fresh and i cannot wait to create a badass avatar and get online working with others and having a great gaming experiance.

We need to know when its out!, dose anyone have a specific date? everywhere ive looked the only info given is Q3, i hope early Q3!!

In the recent press event interviews they declined on putting out anything more definite than Fall this year. I doubt in the few days that have passed since they have changed that stance on giving a firm date.

Multiple sources have set the release date as September 7th, but I’m tentative to believe that.

(Senethro) #4

Multiple sources that don’t know what they’re talking about.

(H0RSE) #5

I have heard Sept 7 and Oct 26.

There are no official dates; it’s done when it gets done. my personal opinion below

I’m planning on late Fall, in my opinion, Bethesda might be trying to launch in time to cash in on the holiday season. I’d bet. That is when I would try to cash in, anyway.

Since it is a new IP, I would say October is the latest I would release. Let it get press and hype, word or mouth, etc. Releasing an already established name, like Halo, or COD could do well with a late fall release, but a new franchise like Brink needs time to grow.

When I put my reserve on it at Gamestop, the clerk said it was scheduled to ship on the 7th, and if you attempt to preorder it online, most websites I’ve checked also confirm that it has a September 7th shipping date.

(H0RSE) #9

there is no official date, but these are 2 that I heard floating around…

(3Suns) #10

Yeah, I heard those two dates as well, but after reading the recent interviews, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were delayed until after the holidays. They are still only on the alpha build. In one of the interviews, it even sounded like the nature of their appearance at E3 (they will be there, but will it be hands-on?) was still to be determined.

I don’t say that pessimistically, just realistically. Ultimately, I would rather SD released the game polished than full of bugs. As much as I would like to play it as soon as possible, I don’t really care when it is released because I will be buying it regardless. September 7th does seem ridiculously soon, though, especially for a game that hasn’t even gone beta yet.

(H0RSE) #11

I read that they were in pre-beta now.

(Icemonkeyjr) #12

Theyre in Pre beta now, ive also heard sept 7th, i wish it were sooner though :frowning:
Also im not entirly sure about what pre beta is, dose this mean its the stage before they release a open or closed beta?

(Nail) #13

mostly it means they aren’t releasing specific details, closed testing is always going on

(3Suns) #14

What is the difference between alpha and pre-beta? No, seriously, is there a difference? The terms they are using in the interviews is “Pre-beta”. HORSE is correct, but I just assumed that that was basically “alpha”. lol

(LyndonL) #15

I heard they have managed to link a key to make the player move forwards now, so stafing and jumping shouldn’t be too far around the corner!!

(Exedore) #16

It is the relationship of C Flat to B Sharp.

(Icemonkeyjr) #17

what? lol the game was shown with the player running around jumping strafing and everything?

(DarkangelUK) #18

He forgot the </sarcasm> tag at the end

(LyndonL) #19

… Bazinga!

(Stray) #20

Can someone from the developers to confirm that the game will be released this year? Just yes or no.
