CTF TOXIC

After about 3 weeks of hardcore mapping I present ctf_toxic :smiley:

As the name suggests it’s a Capture the Flag map:
The objective is to capture the enemies flag and take it back to your own.
You can’t gain a point if the enemy has your flag so don’t forget to defend your teams flag too!

The map has 32 physical spawns per team, but the map probably can’t handle 32 v 32 gameplay wise.

  • Minimum amount of players for a good game: 8 v 8
  • Maximum amount of players for a good game: 25 v 25

The maximum is a rough estimate, tested with a 15v15 and it wasn’t very chaotic at all.

Can’t figure out where to go? Keep your eyes open there are signs all over the place pointing you in the right direction :slight_smile:

Bugs found:

  • Toxic -> func_group
  • pipes and vent @ flag not connected to roof
  • lights and vent not connected to roof in tunnel near flag
  • light grid is messed up
  • signs flashing (not sure if easily fixable)
  • fps hit on entrance spawn -> flag
  • fps hit on overview central area

Allready got in in the cycle ( :wink: ). Good gameplay and can easily handle 20vs20 :slight_smile:
Looked really good and i had no lags or something. Especially thumbsup for that short time :slight_smile:

Looked around a bit and the design looks nicely :smiley: Well Done. Didn’t have much time to see the whole map but I found something what could easily be improved:

Those trishes are not needed and I think you probably didn’t make the toxic a func_group entity. This will stop the T-Junction fixes.

Will look more at it tomorrow.:slight_smile:

Me, personaly. I think you should have made the shaders a little more transparent.

looks cool. the problem might be that it looks a bit too much similar everywhere, that its too big…a forget it, great map :slight_smile:

Changelog:

  • B3 : Lightgrid fixed
    Fixed some brushes / lights that weren’t touching the roof
    Worked on the FPS hit @ flags
    Added “yeehaa” sound trigger when jumping from broken side
    Turned toxic into func_group @ flags and middle area

I don’t think it was nessicary to do that. Nice the trishes are still there. Try editing it manually.

yes I noticed lol, but the funny thing is that on the other side this problem doesn’t occur while it’s the exact same brushwork :confused:

hehe, well i tried to make it difficult,a but most people figured it out quickly, so I added a second control :smiley:
A minor trickjump to keep the absolute noobs out.

Actually funny, lot’s of people in my clan learned enough tj to be able to get into the room, or actually worked together 1 on top of the other :smiley:

Anyway it’s not that difficult.
Throw a nade under the S with a star, then look under the STEALTH graffiti (the metal), when the nade goes of you have like 0.5 seconds to press F to get into the first part.

Well like you said, I’m a complete noob xD

Again, great map, love playing it. The only thing I noticed is that you can actually hide in your rounded walls, which makes it good for some backrape near the flag :stuck_out_tongue:
