Regarding the EV, a suggestion

Have the health of the EV scale with the number of players on the server.

Because with all of the Skyhammers, Artys, and Kiras I’ve seen lately, I figure this would be a good change without directly nerfing any of these mercs. So they’d still be strong in 5v5

8v8 against 6 Skyhammers and 1 Arty on Chapel… So terrible. It would make sense to add health to the EV if there are more players.

But… but… I want to two shot the EV ;-;

I think maybe an invincibility period for the EV? Or a reduced damage period for like 10 seconds after being fully repaired?
I gotta agree, playing against 2+ Skyhammers on EV maps is sad.

Its not going to deter 6 sky’s rolling on a 8v8 though. So do you want higher health with same outcome or less people playing a merc thats good at destroying the obj?

The game is defend or attack. How it goes is how it is. I see a bridge out yonder in the distance. I think you need to get over it.

No need to be a dick about it mate - he raised a valid point and in 8v8 games the EV almost always gets disabled as soon as it gets repaired, EVERY time. I’ve played on Chapel before and repaired the EV, have it destroyed in 3 seconds, repaired it again, have it destroyed again, repaired it again, have it destroyed again and you only move about 5 metres.

Welcome to the forums mate, where “dont be a dick” is a nice slogan for a t-shirt but real life says otherwise.

You wanna know why phantom was nerfed to oblivion? Suggestions like these. " Maaaaan, this game is playing stupid and it makes me upset. I repair the EV a million times and we only move 4.54 in. We need to increase health of EV etc etc…"

My points are valid as well. EV health gets increased, more hammers will be brought to the table. Create a “invicibility period” and hammers will just wait that 7s to throw down some thunder and here we are back to square one.

Next suggestion is gonna be “reduce the dmg the marker puts out. Thatll fix the problem.”
In which I will say, “no, that will only force my hammers on defense if they want to win.”

Then theyll say “This is dumb. In 8v8 the ev never leaves the area in which it begins. We need to get rid of chapel or make the defense spawn further away.”
Ill say “Stop crying you baby lala. In 8v8 (and any other max slot) the goal is to keep a pressure on the defending team so you can repair and move.”

I have three suggestions. 1.) Stop playing in 8v8. 2.) Jump off engi or stay engi but help the forward attack and 3.) Stop complaining. Its 8v8, literally all the stupid things happen in 8v8. Look at it this way, If you got a mission for game mode xp, easy completion.

They say “Play dirty.” Not “play fair.”

I disagree, you get way to much XP from destroying the EV and thus it would encourage mass amounts of air support classes IE; skyhammer, kira and arty.

Just boosting the EV’s health based on how many players are in the server as @Watsyurdeal Is a more reasonable change that is exploit free as far as im aware.

it would help immensely if the base health of the ev was raised to 3 strikes and in larger teams to 4 strikes. it would even put a larger strain on the defenders if they miss used their siege weapons. on the same account the repair time for the ev should be raised proportionally to compensate for the raised defender difficulty.

I don’t know. I always look forward playing against 5 skyhammers when attacking. You can farm the hell out of repairing it. The first stage is quite difficult because even engineer takes more time to repair, but once the EV is up for the first time, an engi can very quickly repair it.

I would say not necessarily more players, but more fire support mercs who are spawned in. Cause if three more vassilis spawn in, they aren’t going to be doing anything against the EV and thus it would be really unfair boost to the EVs health.

Isn’t that how a 8v8 is supposed to go? Yea it’s frustrating but that’s the increased amount of players is what makes it harder.

Yes but having 5 skyhammers on a team means that they can jsut continuously airstrike and the EV can never move an inch

I’ve played on server like such and all it really requires is good timing.
Just do things that reduce the chance of skyhammers throwing an airstrike down on the ev.

I’ve seen alot of players throw down airstrike right before the ev is fixed to destroy it instantly. The simple counter is to wait for them to do it and repair it after.
Or you can wipe all sky hammer and THEN repair it.

The enemy team must be pretty dumb to let you do that to them =P
The only reason I’d EVER throw down an airstrike BEFORE the EV was fully repaired would be to try and steal the game mode XP from a teammate so I can get my mission done or something… Or if I could conceal where the marker is so that they don’t see the airstrike coming and they keep repairing (sometimes you can throw them behind walls/on top of high objects.

What happens when you’re on Defender side and none of your teammates are Fire Support? Seems unfair for one or two people to have to do the work of 6 just because the game expects everyone to play Skybro.
