First of all, does it actually work?
Second, do I have to press the reload key before or after I start sprinting to get it to work? Cause right now my habit is to to use shift to cancel my reload, I may have to turn that off…

It absolutely works and it’s freaking awesome. Generally works best if you reload while sprinting as I have found sometimes if you start to spring while reloading then it simply will not reload.
If I remember correctly, it works if you’re sprinting and then reload ( even if you stop sprinting ). If you’re not sprinting, reload, then start sprinting, it’ll still cancel.
From memory, I’m pretty sure it works regardless of when you start sprinting. BUT, it will cancel the ANIMATION, for reloading when you start sprinting after you start reloading. You’ll still reload, you just won’t see yourself doing it.
not that either.
You have to turn off ‘sprinting cancels reload’ option in the game settings, for double time to work normally. Otherwise it will only work if you first sprint and then reload, making it very clunky
You think we’d get another option on top of the sprint cancels reload that would override if doubletime is active?
That may be an interesting option to have in the option menu so that you don’t have to keep turning it on and off. Still, it’s not exacty a priority fix.
That doesn’t seem like something that’d be an option, but just a normal behavior within the game engine/mechanics…
you all pretty much get it wrong, double time does not trigger the halfed reload animation, the halfed reload animation happens when you reload, wait your mag to be in the weapon (so you can see your ammo is full again but the animation is still going) and then you sprint, canceling the rest of the animation. This is propably a bug.
However Double time only allows player to reload during sprinting.
It does work. That sure is the best fight oriented augments for light mercs. It creates a great synergy with their “hit & run” profile.
I also saw it bugging if you start sprinting after reloading, but that’s very rare. I feel like it happens slightly more often with shotguns than with smg/assault rifles.
