Regarding loadout cards, and different guns

I know in a previous round up the devs said they had no interest in giving different guns to the mercs. But is this really the best idea?

The more I think about it the more I think having a better variety of weapons would really help out the different mercs. Vasilli for example, let’s just be real, the Fe Lix is useless, and no amount of buffs is going to make it viable fair alternative to the MoA. So why not scrap the Fe Lix and give him the Dreiss or Grandeur instead? And give Aimee the MoA instead of the Fe Lix?

What about Fletcher? Wouldn’t he get a good deal of benefit from another SMG? He could take a small nerf to his stickies then since he’d have a new, better primary to use. And it’d cover a lot of ground since the Blishok is like a portable K 121, and if he got the SMG 9 or Crotzni, he’d get something that has a little less stopping power but a higher RoF.

Or how about Skyhammer and the other Fire Support mercs, two burst rifles and an auto rifle. Why not give them the Dreiss? Imagine Arty with the Stark, Dreiss, and Timik, Skyhammer with the M4, BR 16, and Dreiss. And so on and so forth.

To me, it seems like a terrible idea to just shut it out completely. Especially since it’s an OPEN BETA.

I would play the crap out of Vassili with Dreiss/Grandeur. And basically yes to all your examples.

It’s OPEN BETA with microtransactions already in place so you can’t really call it OPEN BETA anymore.

Vassili is supposed to be a sniper, he does long range sniping and he does it well. I have a feel you were looking at this in an aimee-biased view, which is how you came up with such ridiculous points. Aimee with the Moa basically means she’d be the alpha sniper. She already has higher mobility, giving her an easy time with sniping just adds more onto that.

Giving Fletcher a real gun would make him too good of a merc unless the stickies were nerfed tremendously.

Except Vasilli has more health and better secondaries, and his heart beat sensor gives him more range for spotting than the Snitch.

Vasilli is by no means outshadowed by her, and if anything expanding his weaponry would only make him more competitive with her in terms of who you should choose.

Pretty much the main reason I chose Aimee is because I like her weapon diversity and perks more. If Vasilli was changed in that regard it’d really come down to player preference, rather than who is the objectively better merc.

And as far as Fletcher goes, Stickies ARE going to be nerfed tremendously, it’s already been confirmed.

It’s about variety so not all mercs have the same guns. And some mercs would be way too strong with some guns. FLetcher with SMG-9 or Crotzni? Okaaay…
Vassili already has way too strong CQC. Aimee and Redeye much more balanced. Giving him a mid-range weapon AND machine pistols + a wallhack? Noo, thx. If it was for me, he would get 3 pistols as Aimee and Redeye. Most Vassilis rely on a bodyshot and spamming the machine pistol while bunnyhopping around.

K121 for Thunder, Mk46 for Fragger. It just feels so much more right considering their abilities.

Also I’ve wondered since the time I joined last April/May why on earth does Vassili, strong (debatable only now after jumpshot nerfs) long-range class also get strong short range utility, when that exactly is supposed to be their weakness and counterplay. Maybe if he didn’t have such he wouldn’t be ““needed”” to be nerfed so hard.

Mercs have their roles for a reason, Arty is supposed to be a long range skyhammer, giving him a M4a1/Timik would destroy these roles. Same goes for a Dreiss/Grandeur Vasilli.
Why would anyone play Redeye while he could play a wallhack Redeye. The combination of sensor + Grandeur/Dreiss has incredibly damage potential. No one would pick Redeye anymore. Another merc role ruined for having more variety on a other merc.
And regarding the Smg9 Fletcher, this would make Fletcher incredibly broken, he is already a bit too strong (a nerf to sticky blast radius to make him more skillbased by forcing u to hit your stickies more carefully would fix him imo). Why would anyone play Bushwacker when they could play a Smg9 Fletcher?

The 4 extra damage on the Felix makes it great on Aimee because of her ability, the moa wouldn’t be as good, and I prefer the feel and sound of the Felix as well

All i want is the Mk46 on Sparks,
i feel like Sparks is a shit tier medic anyway, giving her an lmg as primary would surely make her a better combat medic, but please don´t add a speednerf while carrying the mk46

I doubt that youre such a fast clicker to make the RPM from Hochfir work on the PDP becuase it would still be semi-auto.

And getting modified weapon is a little… well, imagine a Hochfir or a Shotgun with the bullet damage of a Felix.

Nah, its fully auto. Oh, and it when it hit it procs a Fragger nade explosion and a molotov.
