Had some fun games tonight, though very buggy (added a shedload of bugs in the bug forum) :(.

Redeye is great fun to play, but maybe a bit OP unless there are other Redeyes or Vassili’s on the other team. Gun is great to use, has a W:ET garand feel to it, mega recoil but can 1-headshot light classes. Smoke + goggles + plow in SAS style is good fun and good to see another non-sniper recon class (didn’t find the rifle as effective long range, but up close its a beast).

Lobby is a good addition, needs a bit of work but a good start :). As ras says, needs a team swap option.

WC is getting better and better - really like the extra new routes.

I like the badges but where do you see which ones you have?

I also saw a few ‘Ammo!’ messages in global as well.

Mid Air (+150 XP) - Kill a player whilst they are at least 90 units off the ground

How about kill a player whilst you are 90 units off the ground?

Ok downloaded the patch this time, again could only try it out on an empty server…
The red eye guy seems pretty cool… I quite like his weapon based on the “wall tests” haha
Have zero idea how his goggles play, I’m wondering if they have any value without smoke?

I was wondering if you guys got Redeye’s tagline from that awesome Maiden song “The Prisoner”?:slight_smile: I think he looks absolutely badass and I like his main weapon, cause I love the original M14 and the later M21 and it’s derivates. Though I haven’t yet shot it ingame.

PS: Maybe I’m crazy, but I can definitely see a bit of Solid Snake in this guy :wink:

My thoughts:

Love Redeye, my new favourite non-Medic class. Gun is great, love the fact that if you can aim you can do well with it but it punishes poor aim (because it’s harder to spam). I’m sure it’ll be nerfed tho’, certainly as soon as the ET Medics get here and decide it’s OP. :slight_smile:

Not sure about the smoke, generally not a fan of smoke (seen it abused in other games) but the fact there’s a significant cool-down, both on throwing smoke and being able to see thru it, probably makes it OK, or least it will once people get bored of Redeye and go back to other classes.

Changes to WC are fantastic, last stage is really good now. I can’t help thinking it could do with opening up the Chapel again as a stage from which the data cores need to be collected, maybe make it so the EV is simply used to blow the doors to the Chapel and the data-cores are run from there. At the moment the map is great, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, if you know what I mean.

As others have mentioned, lots of bugs, and the lobby is a good start but you need to be able to switch teams from there as well.

Nice update. Played it yesterday for some time and I like it.

So far I noticed the following:

General

[li]There is some lag, it happens sometimes that I stutter when when walking etc, ping was normal. Asked on the server, some had the same feeling
[/li][li]Medic/Ammo Calls are in public chat and not in team chat
[/li][li]seems like the defi charge bug is still in but I cant 100% say it because I didn’t pay that much attention while playing (:tongue: Mustang)
[/li][li]the default weapon cycle is limited to weapons only, I would like to see the default cycle goes thru all weapons and tools. It’s annoying when you want to revive and try to scroll to the defi but you just switch between AR and pistol :wink:
[/li][li]smoke nade explosion seems a bit loud, at least I felt it this way
[/li][li]The gun feeling did improve, I’m starting to like it
[/li][li]The feedback when getting hit could be better, I have some issues realizing how much HP I’ve left, maybe its down again to my not so much paid attention :wink:
[/li][li]Performance seems to be ok, not more not less

Redeye
I’ve not played him yet, but I love how dense the smoke is, I was expecting it to be very weaksauce and I was pleasantly surprised. Hope it’s not disableable with RivaTuner/INI hacks (same for invisibility cloak btw).

As Shifty said, I experienced some lag (stutter when when walking, etc) with ping going from 56 to 60.

Gonna try it further if I get the time

Worth noting that explosives that go off in the area of the smoke actually help dissipate it quicker, so there are some counters to it.

Most of everything has been said from what I saw last night.

This biggest things was the lag, the ammo bug and rubberbanding.

Last night took rubberbanding and player flickering to the max. I was playing with Toomic last night and some dudes name that started with an M was physically teleporting around! I said kick him and he said no wait and came back with out the teleport! WTF! Hax? Downloading Porn? Net Client Tweak? Something! This was at 7 - 8ish CST with the map with the RV (Euro)…

Redeye seems cool and will be super OP when Add-on sights come out.

I know we complain a lot about empty servers but I think its actaully better then giving out a ton of keys especially with this patch. Crashes and what not would make people never come back. So keep up the good work and keep pushing forward. FIX the gun play, smoothness and this game will be epic!!!

EDIT: What do people use to record video? That’s free? I “borrowed” Dextory but got a new computer and dont want to “borrow” it again… haha…

Looks awesome. Love the MOBA-style character system in this game. Much better for balancing and gamplay than loadouts are.

Suggestion for the Lobby:

First off get ride of this 3 player thing!

Second create a fast wheel mouse or scroll picture select merc option. This way you dont have a second screen to apper you can just wheel through the pictures and names to pick the mercs. (Possible make this possible in game!!! so people and wheel through all their mercs in game which eliminates the 3 merc crap)

Third: I think the lobby is sweet for matches BUT its amazing slow for pubs. I think for pubs it should take you to the lobby fine whatever but have a running clock so the next round or map starts with out everyone sitting there and picking their butts. They can then even the game when they are ready but have a max time of say like 3 minutes before they are kicked for idle. PUBS = Fast! PUBS = Fragging! PUBS = Many Maps and fun play! Stop slowing us down with lobbies and this animation before the maps start. The 30 seconds it takes to show the animation at the beginning of each map makes me want to pull my eyes out. Plus after 100,000 of seeing the same animation over and over and over I will quit haha!

Forth: I will need to play a little more but I found it really odd that the map wasnt loaded while in the lobby. Should you be in the map while in the lobby? Then you ready up and it drops you in the spawn with a 20 second timer?

I think this whole ready up in pubs is not needed. Get in and Good. Computers are 1000x faster then ET days so map ends and give us 1 minute before the round starts and go!
