Redeye play styles?

Just wanted to know about all the different ways Dirty Bomb community play Redeye. Defense, Offense? Melee, Mid, Ranged? Ambush, Front-lining? Please leave a comment below!

All of the above. I belive you need to use everything in his kit to play him effectively. Personally i play him melee heavy

I go fairly aggressive with the Dreiss (offensive and defensively) while consistently spotting enemies as much as possible. I throw smoke when my allies need cover for the objective or if I need to disorient the enemy.

Oh and laughing whenever I go crazy with the Kukri knife :stuck_out_tongue:

Notable uses:

  • spot & pick people off at distance, while safely smoked
  • ambush/flank people while safely smoked
  • cover teammates doing objectives with smoke

Effective at all ranges, weakest at midrange when you still have to ADS to get any reasonable accuracy. Most powerful at range behind smoke, or point-blank in smoke.

Protip: if both you and your enemy are inside the smoke, you are actually pretty visible. Either keep yourself or the enemy in the smoke (but not both); or keep the smoke between you.

I play him aggressively/offensively and try to cover my Team when they are doing the objective. For example on Bridge when we’re escorting the EV, i try to stay above on the bridge and spot enemies for my Team and watch their backs as they escort the EV.

One tip i have is if you have the GSR, you can shoot an enemy once, then switch to your pistol to finish them off close range. I find this really easy and useful if you want to play him aggressively. I only say one shot with the GSR because the thing gets too inaccurate when Hip firing, although you can sometimes kill them with the GSR without having to switch weapons. But doing so is risky because of the slower fire rate and less accuracy.

one shot is roughly 40 damage, so switching to secondary against most enemies means you still have to get 80 damage in. I’d say that is a disadvantage, either control recoil with tapfire, or peek-fire or use ADS.

Its def worth it to switch to pistol to finish off opponents, but mostly for 90hp mercenaries such as kira n proxy. 80hp and 110-120hp opponents you are often better off trying to get another hit with the rifle in.

Obviously, not all opponents you fight have full hp, so def. a good tactic, especially with the fast firing pistols

I tend to stay a little far back with the grandeur and do spotting and picking at enemies on defense.
When it’s time to play the objective, I usually use smoke to cover them. I also use smoke defensively in narrow corridors and alleyways.
