Redeye infa-red goggles

(ludicrousBlast) #1

I found something that bugs me while playing as Redeye. If you die, but are not finished, the goggles are still active, meaning if you get revived, you could be left with no secondary ability for a little bit. This is just something small that could easily be fixed by turning them off when you die.

I think that was written in the “known issues” part of the new update logs. They know about it.

That part refers to your first life on a server sometimes having your goggles glitch/not be useable. OP is talking about the goggles not auto-deactivating upon your merc going down.

Yes.

I read the patch notes during the maintenance period, and it seemed kinda irresponsible of them to give the merc the go ahead when they knew from the get go, that there’s this pretty annoying/merc breaking bug.

Gotta say this is the first time I’m truely disappointed by SD. I know my opinion doesn’t mean much but that’s my 2cent

I would say it is far from game breaking. Just an inconvenience.

If they’d decided to pull Redeye from the update today, fix the bug, send it back to QA, then release him next week - sure, no bug. Alternatively, release him, let people play with him with the knowledge this small thing is bugged and work on this, as well as any other bugs that show up along the way, ahead of the inevitable bugfix patch next week. It’s a tiny issue and I’m glad they pushed the update so we could play with him over the weekend.

I’d rather have Redeye and the patch with a minor bug than not have him at all TBH. It might have taken another week to get the bug sorted and there would be a lot more upset people. As long as the patch came without breaking anything major then it’s fine as far as I am concerned.

Never said game breaking, I said merc breaking. And it isn’t a minor issue to me really. It seriously impacts how the merc is play since without IR you are literally blinding yourself with smoke. It essentially removes your two abilities except for maybe smoking obj. You play exactly the same as a merc with no ability. The whole in them always saying “soon” regarding merc release is to account for issues like this. They didn’t need to announce the release today, not everyone expected it to be today.

But w/e though, don’t wanna go any deeper into this, its just not worth it. And perhaps it doesn’t affect you, but it does for me. I’ll respect your views and I hope you respect mine.
