Redeye, E key not working ...sometimes

Recently acquired Redeye and something peculiar has been happening. Occasionally the E key (Infra red goggles) doesn’t work, at all (during the span of a respawn).
What happens: I respawn and the E key doesn’t work. Next time I respawn it works!
Might have something to do with the way I die.

yes, it happens when you try to press ‘e’ as you are dying. server disagrees with you and gives you a restraining order on infrared goggles for your next spawn
