Red Light

(Blowfish) #1

How do I create red light for my red light district in Dutchhaze 2.0 ?

[rightmousebutton]>light

key: _color
value: 1 0 0 (red, green, blue)

EDIT: Sorry it’s rgb :stuck_out_tongue:

Or press K and chose a different red colour.

RGB would make more sense to me:
Red Green Blue

however, I’m not sure if it’s like that in radiant

EDIT: but like Pray says, K is easier to use, you can see the color you like immediately

You cant directly use RGB values - they have to be scaled values from 0-1

A rgb value of “127 0 0” would actually be “0.5000 0.0000 0.0000”

K is the best way to get those values into a light entity - they come directly from the color chart scaled.

You can also access it from the menubar in Radiant by clicking on Misc ----> Select Entity Color

Have a look at Pazurs little converter…

K is nice but its bugged. It won’t let you pick a Value (anything inside that triangle) and will default to the outer ring selection.

If you want accuracy, take the 3 RGB numbers it gives you and divide each by 255 (windows calculator ftw) and put those numbers in as color/<Norm. R> <Norm. G> <Norm. B>

This allows you to make darker colours and this really helps to set atmosphere.
