Recording Help

Hey everyone, I’m yet to play brink because I’m EU but I’m ready for the games release in the next 12 hours. I have a few questions and a few problems that I need your help with. I want to record Brink videos on PC and upload them onto YouTube, but I don’t think this game has an in game recorder or does it?

The videos I’ve found on the internet for recording are all with fraps, I have fraps and I’ve used it, but I just can’t use it because it limits my FPS to multiples of what I’m recording at so in a game where I would be getting 200 fps I’m only getting 60ish, you may be thinking playing with 60 fps is fine, but I play with a 120hz monitor so getting anything under 120fps feels choppy to me and at the standard I play at I do not wish to have this feeling.

My PC is pretty average now, so I don’t even know if I can keep 120fps without recording.
i5 760 @4GHz
ATI 5850
4GB Ram
1.5tb 7200RPM HDD

I’m basically looking for a recording program that has the ability to record my microphone and capture in game video + sound while not capping my FPS. I’m a complete noob when it comes to editing videos and getting the correct settings, so if you could guide me on the correct settings for YouTube and what formats I should be rendering to etc that would be awesome

Thanks and see you guys soon :>!

Yeah I know what you mean, the best way I know of is to record it a demo first then record in fraps later.

I’m still waiting for my copy so I’ve not tested the command but it used to be “recordnetdemo <demoname>” in the console, minus quotes.

To get the console up press ctrl+alt+`

Ah i’ve just read that demos are causing problems so the command has been disabled for now, guess i’ll have to just sort out my settings in game and for recording, so i’m ready for when they enable the command
