Currently, there is only one sparks loadout that is actually useful. 383 is the best loadout by a massive margin, and nothing else comes close. However, this isn’t great design – you can’t really customize sparks to fit your playstyle without taking a significant hit to your overall power and gambling for sparks loadouts feels really terrible.
My suggested fix is to give sparks a global +25% charge speed buff but replace quick charge on 383 with a mediocre-bad perk. Mechanic maybe? 383 ends up either untouched or slightly buffed, depending on the replacement perk (the global buff replaces quick charge). It still remains as the best support sparks loadout due to get up + potent packs. However, sparks’ other loadouts are actually useful now. 373 is a god tier melee/general combat loadout (empire-9, double time, quick draw, chopper, bat). On the other hand, 281 is the best revivr loadout, since it essentially doubles up on quick charge. However, it gets the tolen to balance things out. 343/382/143 are also now viable as well – they are a bit behind behind the top 3, but they still have some advantages.
As a secondary change, we could give the empire-9 to 273 and give the mp-400 to 373. Old 273 (now 373) becomes a top tier shooter loadout with empire-9/drilled/quick draw, and old 373 (now 173) remains top tier as a more melee focused loadout that is still pretty strong in general combat. 343 also looks better now that no other loadout gets both chopper and the empire-9.
This could also play nicely with a battery nerf – give sparks a global charge speed buff and battery nerf, and give 383 mechanic or the like to soften the blow for existing players. The potential additional strength from loadouts would make the battery nerf easier to swallow.
