RE: Hackers.

(Horsey) #1

It is completely unacceptable to have the amount of hackers this game does. They keep releasing new mercs, fixing minor bugs but ignore the biggest issue; hackers.

Numerous times have I suspected someone of cheating, inspected their profile and to no surprise, it’s private. Just today I added someone who’s profile was private and they had only 10 hours on Dirty Bomb with it being the only game in their library. Yes, they could have been smurfing… but when they crouch twice in a row from 2 headshots behind them, it’s quite hard to justify being good.

This is an amazing game, with massive potential that could rival other fps. But it will fall if they don’t fix this problem soon.

I don’t feel as though people complain about this enough, which is why nothing has been done about it. What do you guys think about this problem, and is it top priority to be fixed?

Everytime this thread comes up, I keep questioning if there really are that many cheaters in the game, or if they are all just avoiding me simultaneously. I haven’t seen a hacker in months.

A lot of hackers will play slightly worse as to not draw attention to themselves. You do have to keep an eye out for questionable activity.

Or… Your just one of those guys to call hacks on anybody better than them. There aren’t that many hackers.

(DirtyHarrier) #5

Haven’t seen many hackers myself. And what kind of argument is “A lot of hackers will play slightly worse as to not draw attention to themselves.”

(blufflord) #6

Ive played 460 hours (i know its not alot compared to some of you), but Ive only ever seen 1 hacker (guy went 71/3 in obj back in septemeber), and no-one since then. Seen great players, dont get me wrong, but not hackers.

Part of the problem is responses like this.

I’m really not bothered if someone is better than me, I don’t play as much as some people and I understand that.

Haven’t seen many hackers myself. And what kind of argument is “A lot of hackers will play slightly worse as to not draw attention to themselves.”

Pretty reasonable argument if you consider that hackers might not want to be caught?

You can literally google “Dirty Bomb Hack” and download from the first link.

Yeah…sure you’ll have to pay for it and they will likely try and hack you in the process…you want someone to blame…then why not blame the hackers, the losers who need to use this junk to feel good about themselves or whatever reason.

These aimbot creators keep updating…unfortunately for developers they have no choice but to be reactive…there is no real proactive response short of having mods watch every single match for suspicious behavior…which isn’t going to happen.

(N8o) #9

If you run into them that often, try to record it next time.

Please just download and use it. See what happens.

There was a guy cheating in ranked at the beginning of the season. But there are really really few around and they do get sorted.
However, if you run into one of the pros and especially the former pros of ET etc, the aim feels incredible and close to bot. And the game (and especially the early beta) is flooded by them due to the game and its higher skill mechanics rewarding good tracking skills and not camping behind a corner.

tl;dr
The hax are in your head. Download them if you want to get banned… For testing purpose.

PS: I suck and I still get called for hax often enough.

last week I was in an execution map at like 3 am pacific time our team was wailing on a phantom with infinite health, everyone in voice chat was laughing at first and trying to find ways to kill him we had to literally wait for the timer to run out as defenders and just simply could not win as attackers.

suffice to say we all reported him and and i even reported his steam account

(KattiValk) #12

I haven’t seen a hacker in ages, definitely not since the new anti-cheat.

(kibloy) #13

Even ranked doesn’t have cheaters, this really sounds like a case of a bad player calling hacks on anyone better than them.

This game used to be infested before they added the new anti-cheat back in August/September but right now it’s one of the cleanest games I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing.

I think the community speaks for itself here. And they know to report as soon as they see something which can only help anti-cheat efforts. I’d suggest just reporting them when you see them and moving on. The state of anti-cheat is actually very good right now imo(Compared to the dozens of posts we used to see before NGS was deployed).
