Nice one, 7/10

Seems like every forum topic about music ends up being a contest of who can post the most “metal” thing.

Here are some lovely Slams though.

(Reddeadcap) #162

8/10, I can respect the instruments but I hate growling, if I can’t understand the singer, Not worth hearing, there’s a limit and I think Amon Amarth have hit it in a song like this one

#163

6/10 Amon Amarth song. Not a big fan of 'em.
10/10 second song simply ‘cause the intro reminds me of playin’ DOOM.
… / 10 to whatever that third song was.

Quoted for truth - and challenge accepted.

If we’re just posting the most metal thing we have, well here we go

#165

Oh, man, Melvins. Love that old stuff.

(watsyurdeal) #166

That’s pretty crazy, it’s like Slayer and Pantera fused together DBZ style.

Hell yeah, they’re far too unknown. They actually predate Pantera by a bit and are considered the grandaddy of that Thrashy, Groove-oriented Southern sound. Pantera was no doubt influenced by them and I hate to see so many people bicker about who came first and who’s better, etc. Love 'em both (got a Pantera tattoo myself) and they’re easily 2 of the best bands to come out of those New Orleans and TX scenes. They were friends and fans of each other as well:

This modern band disbanded a few years back, but their first album is probably the closest thing to Pantera I’ve ever heard… and I’m completely okay with that. Not one to trash on others for carrying a sound they love so long as it’s done right. This album, by all accounts, was done FAR BEYOND right. Pun intended.

Damn, this thread is invaded my metallers…let’s cure this with some…RAP!
That’s a french old rap song but what it portrays is still relevant.

Sorry , no YT video of this song avalaible for foreigners :’(

lyrics :
Little brother

Little brother has only one wish, grow up
That’s why he persists to become wild from 10 years old
Become an adult, with the TV news as a guide
And slug the disagreers (1)

In the past, when big brother was a kid
It was sheer madness with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Now the dwarves have kicked Snow White out and hit
And beat up guys like in Mortal Kombat

At 13 he already loves money, greedy
But his pockets are empty so he acts like a big boss
in the dancing parties, that have now become celebrations, no more syrup
Little brother wants beers

I don’t think it was intentional, but adults - that’s for sure -
Indirectly showed that harming was a good thing
Tomorrow his exercice books will be full of deletions
Little brother smokes spliffs and break cars

(chorus)
Little brother doesn’t go to playgrounds anymore
He still toddles yet wants seven league boot
Little brother wants grow up too fast
But he’s forgotten that vain is running, little brother

Little brother dreams about big cars, clothes and dough
About a reputation of bad boy, for all of those, he’d steal the moon
He commits fellony after fellony without caring
About the harm he’s done, while asking for respect

He doesn’t care much about what tomorrow will bring
About giving certain people reasons to despise him
In his head the cathode ray tube
Smothered the vibrations of the African drums

No more school bag, he wouldn’t know what to do with it
He doesn’t play marbles anymore, he wanna play guns (2)
Little brother threw his toy soldiers away to become a warrior
and think about the loot he’ll amass

(chorus)

Journalists make fashions, school violence already existed
When I was young there were rackets, punch-ups and damages
The teachers’ windshields were also broken with baseball bats
They were getting muddled with cutters

But speaking about it in the newsbroadcast becomes usual
It prints in the retina like a normal situation
And if little brother wants to make the news
He only has to imitate what he saw before 8:30 pm

Damn, in the 80’s it was a fact but now
Those journalists made the normality out of it
And I don’t think that little brother is worse than before
Only overexposed to publicity and violence

For the older, the kids are the best lemon
The number one target for market products
And to be sure that he obtains it
Little brother secures himself with a gun at the belt

They know who you are when they see what you possess
Little brother knows it, and keeps that fact in mind
Money would open a gate to heaven for him
As easily as his screwdriver opens car doors

Grandstanding is all he desires
It looks better, when you wear a Giorgio Armani
Worried about how people see him
In spite of his young age, little brother smokes to appear older

He would take the fortune highway
and doesn’t realize that he can lose his shirt
he’s only out of his egg
and already little brother wanna be bigger than a steer

Says the video isn’t available in my country. Got another version we can rate? Every now and then I’ll listen to a tiny bit of rap. Not usually a fan, though, and most of the rappers I like are somewhat unknown. Not real big on any radio music.

(watsyurdeal) #170

If you want Rap well

I like old stuff, and stuff that actually hits me deep. Hearing somebody rap about tits, butts, and drugs doesn’t really do anything for me.

#171

Agree about the old stuff. C-Mob is currently the only rapper I can say I genuinely like. There’s a bunch that are good like Twisted Insane, King Iso, Mos Def, Brotha Lynch, K-Rino, Diabolic, and Tech’s older stuff, but I rarely listen to it. Just not my genre.

(Chilled Sanity) #172

I’m seeing Nightwish, amon amarth and shit.

Honestly I’m happy with this thread needs more rotting christ tho.

(boerhae) #173

8/10 on the C-Mob guy, reminds me of Yelawolf or Twista

Because 9tails needs more exposure!

It’s in a playlist that I made btw, if that interests you

I really don’t understand this song’s supposed to be, I’m just baffled.
P.S: I only listened to the first song, I’m not interested in the whole thing.

Eh, 5/10. Sounds too generic. Wouldn’t bother me as some background music on a game, though.

In the mood for some classics today:

(watsyurdeal) #176

Eh, 3/5, not bad, just not what I would willingly listen to everyday.

One of my favorite cds, and the last song on here is especially awesome

This one misses the bullseye by tad for me, but I can enjoy it easily. I’ll give a solid 8/10

Here’s one of my favorite songs period. It’s in Finnish so good luck trying to understand the lyrics though.

#178

Too soft for me, but it wasn’t that bad. Finnish sounds cool too. Time for Metal and now I’m in the mood to post some German stuff. B)

! German Thrash is better than Bay Area Thrash.
