Rate of fire and SMGs

After playing this game for a while, one thing always seems to strike me as the one key factor to deciding the winner of firefights, aiming skill aside.

Rate of fire. Combined with accuracy, and weapon damage to an extent, this always seems to change a firefight for me.

If I’m using a shotgun, with low firing rate, I always get out damaged, out shot, and out everythinged by an SMG or rifle. If I’m using the Dreiss or Stark, I always feel as though I’m disadvantaged against an SMG user especially, who is able to just spray and aim for the general head area, while I’m still trying to hit them.

Am I the only one who always feels disadvantaged against players with a higher fire rate? Especially when using the Blishlok I can feel this.

im not sure about this, shotguns are devestating 1 shot machines, the thing is that you need to be accurate and close with them but can backfire if you miss with it.

Smg power comes from accuracy and high fire rate, however it does not make them best, m4 can beat smg by accuracy in all ranges, K-121has one of the highest dps in game and its slow firing but deals a lot of damage and now thanks to buff its accurate again.
While bishlock is slow and it has low dps, its still strong in all ranges, user just needs to be accurate.

I dont realy find the smg the best, but balancing is always on going, so if there are imbalances with them vs everything (that i dont notice) it will get changed (hopefully)
