Ranked matches?

Hey guys this is my first post so sorry for the waffle. I’ve been following brink since euro gamer 2009 and since borderlands was not all I hope it would be customization wise I have great anticipation for brink :smiley: (in a good way). I’m sure you all as excited as me that we have less them one month till release. (BTW thanks splash or beth or whoever move the game release up a week.)

[Question]
The question I have is regarding ranked matches I have looked around the forums and googled away but haven’t found much about this. Will brink have ranked matches or will they all be social? I’m hoping for ranked matches as I like to brag if I’m doing well and mock my mates when there not and vice versa.
So any one know if brink will have them and is so are there any ranks or would it be a numerical rank system?

It’s my understanding ranked matches are the games that track your stats and allow you to progress further with the online aspect of the game. Correct me if im wrong though.

And unranked matches are just for fun and dont record your stats so you dont level up or anything.

If im right then yeah Brink will have ranked matches, and probably unranked ones as well. But if your ida of ranked matches are different from mine then i have NO idea.

How you described ranked is kind of what i mean.

By ranked i meant that it tracks you’re in game stats like k/d ratio etc. and gives you a rank say 230,000 out of say 9,000,000 players and as you play more games it adjusts you rank.

I.e. I play my first “ranked” match online and it gives me a rank of 321,176 then I play a few more “ranked” matches against similarly ranked people and i win a few (yeah right lol) I would then move up to say… rank 300,876 in the world, and then if I lost some matches I’d move down to rank 315,765 and so on.

As for experience I believe ALL matches give you that as part of the persistent character experience.

BRINK won’t have a leaderboard like that and also won’t track your k/d.

Thanks Diablo85, i new k/d would not be show but was hoping it would be use in the background for rankings/leader boards.

Its a shame this wont be included for those that are more competitive but I’m sure brink will be awesome all the same :smiley:

as far as we know, there are no “ranked” servers, all matches however will add to your levels and xp whether online or offline, data to be saved in Steam cloud for PC

@nail thank dude, ill be getting it on 360 getting a nice pc/360 pad from razor just for it, you getting pc version?
