Ranked and high ping

I know I’m going to get a lot of flak for trying to join a game with high ping. Here’s my question anyways. The normal quick join doesn’t get me into a game if my ping in all servers are above 150. I’ll have to use the server browser. Is ranked any different? Can I get a game from matchmaking with 150+ ping.

Btw my ISP is so bad, they would manage to mess it up even if the game servers, ISP and me are located in the same building. Normally I won’t mind skipping ranked, but I want those dope skins.

Yep, I’ve queued in Australia with 300+ ping.

@Dawnlazy Holy #### is 300 ms ping to a server from a different continent? Even playing on US East servers from Europe is like 200-250 (did it in a different game, when all EU servers were under maintenance)

@HammerOfDawn21 I use the server browser to join servers under 50ms ping, so I know that they are available. Because of this, I don’t have much experience with quick join.

In ranked, however, I’ve had games where everyone had over 80ms, and half of the players over 100ms, so if you usually have 100+ ping because of your connection, it is very possible that you end up with 150+ in ranked.

You can pick the region when you queue for Ranked.

I’m from EU, and I’m playing with a friend from Brazil in duo queue. We play on NA servers, and both get around 220 ping, while on Quick Play, we get around 120.

So, if you queue alone, in your (closest) region, matchmaking should take that in consideration. I have seen people with 150+ ping playing both on EU and on NA
