SD can you fix what ranks we’re placed at?

Because it’s not fun having bronze 1 players vs a full team of pro players.

Like seriously, I don’t know any single person or have even seen anyone above silver.

yea there are a tonne of people at silver, just play and win a bit more, get to silver rank, and im sure you’ll face other silvers

also, if youre fighting pro players their gameplay shows their skill and experience, if you wanna play ez summer squeaker 2000 then go ahead and boot your Cowadoody

I’m gold 4, my team mate is gold 5 and the other 3 are gold 1 and 2. Pretty sure there’s loads of golds, but unsure if there’s any cobalt yet. We would like to be but it’s hard to find games when you reach gold 4/5 because you can’t match up with silvers, so we’re just not finding any games (hence I am playing on an alias now)

Oh I’m silver specialist, almost silver officer, for some reason i get a lot more bronzes on my team that I want ;-;

I can’t say I’m surprised…this poorly thought out no effort attempt to keep people playing while they actually have to develop the game since they no longer have anyone but themselves to blame, isn’t working out well.

The longer the season goes on for, the more the ranks will get spread out. I’m determined to hit gold by at least the end of next week. Let’s see how it goes.

Shoe replied to my post? Wow, and yeah, I can see what you’re saying but it seems that mostly everyone was placed in Silver, even godlike players. I think it would’ve been more fair to the people that have played longer to have a complete MMR reset. I mean it makes more sense, at the moment, the people that have played for over a year are the people getting screwed over by the Placement system.

I’ve seen one gold player. Matchmaking made short work of him and teamed him up with four unranked players versus five silvers agents and specialists. It was a pretty short match. :smiley:

In my personal experience, the initial 10 games were a complete mess with random results. Plenty of leavers, plenty of ping 150+ potatoes, plenty of useless Vassili and Phantoms that never switched and dragged the whole team down. Eventually I duo queued with a steam friend, which got me to silver specialist pretty quickly. Since then games have been between ok and great, mostly resembling the level from min 10 or even min 20 servers. Of course ranked is more fun due to 5vs5 and friendly fire.

So I kind of agree with @SatanicUnicorn’s suggestion that unranked experienced players should not be dropped in the same pot as the new players. Maybe unranked level 20+ should be given the benefit of doubt and treated as silver agents unless proven otherwise after 10 games?

Anyway, so far season 2 has been a huge improvement over season 1 (warts and all), so keep up the good work, SD.

the game is weirdly fluid with that ping

Me and bushyg were placed in gold 1 after our placements, and I can tell you finding games has been a nightmare in solo and duo queue. We actually have a better chance at finding games in a 5, because the rank limit is less restrictive in 5’s apparently.

I agree more people should have been placed in gold. It would probably fix the problem we’re having not being able to find games. bushyg went 6-4 in his placements and I went 9-1, yet some of our mates who went 10-0 in their placements got put in silver officer and stuff. It honestly makes no sense.

it’s a poor ranking system, people that haven’t had ranks in previous seasons can forget about getting placed in gold even if they have nobody close to their skill level in silver, not to mention that the current system depends way to much on teammates which with the current team balance is just plain stupid. You can go 50/0 and lose because of your team and still lose like 1/7th of your rank. In a game in which individual skill is more important than team work most of the time, I would atleast suspect individual skill to have a decent impact on ranks.

and lets also not forget about ranked having been released without any weapons and merc balancing which was such a ‘great’ idea with how many weapons and mercs are op or just straight up broken by design. Not that I wasn’t surprised tbh, sd won’t ever stop listening to reddit/forums and will always keep on ignoring any experienced players, still waiting for the time Sparks will receive her buff cause she’s underpowered and not game breakingly op at all cough cough.

Sure, not 50/0, but I was impressed by myself having a KDR>1 fighting 5v1 in the majority of the time, even if I used Nader. Still lost 30% of my rank, not 1/7.
I started as Sawbonez, but i had to switch because these players couldn’t really kill any of the enemies, the Phoenix didn’t heal even when I was standing in front of him spamming crouch and calling for “Medic” using V21 - just look at his score.

So the Netherlands are closest to Russian servers? cause 75% of the time I get 72 ping in ranked…
