“Based on last Season’s analysis; large, higher-skilled parties will now be matched against even tougher opponents”

I’m not sure what this means. If I take it in the worst terms, that means a party you made with an average, say, gold agent rank would be placed against a premade team with average gold5-cobalt? That would be terrible and would not have fixed any issues of party parity between teams, meaning stomps still will come.

If I am more charitable, I’m hoping that this means that a high rank premade team will be placed against a lot of high skill pubs. But can the algorithm be certain that it has a lot of high ranked going solo? Especially if it is trying to counteract a pool of high skill players that are partying up, thus reducing the high skill solo pool?

PS: No free 500 points like season 2 ranked? :stuck_out_tongue: You really didn’t take any advice on making the rewards more rewarding.

All it means is that a party’s ELO is inflated based on the size of their party, with the assumption that the larger the party, the more coordinated they will be, and the “better” they will be as a team. So in your scenario, in theory, Party 1 (non-5 stack, average of Gold-Agent) would be placed against a 5 stacked party of lower ranks than that of their own, because Party 2 (premade 5 stack) would have had their ELO inflated to match Party 1. For example, a five stack of Gold Recruits.

Short answer is no, as there aren’t enough players. This is why, after a certain time queuing, it’ll decide to simply chuck you against anyone it can find, in hopes you don’t get bored queuing for hours at a time.

Welp, I guess I’ll have to see if my placement matches is slamming my head against the wall or not. Hope it isn’t like last season. I’ll update my experience on matches as I play them and comment about the fairness state.

Make it a weighted system based on individual score with opposing ranks, match time, and whether you win, lose, or tie taken into consideration. Similar to how credits are calculated at the end of the match.

Wait somone correct me if im wrong but did they remove it were you could only get ranked skins for the mercs you have? it looks like now you could get it for any merc… i could be wrong tho.

3 x win, which 2 of them were lucky coz people from opposite team left at the beginning
1x draw
7 x lose, like… enemies completely raped my ass, I couldn’t move from spawn for the entire first round 2 times.

This is a joke, not balance. My girlfriend sucks badly at this game, but she knows how to do obj so she’s always top OBJ on casual but poor k/d ratio, my bro started recently and he loved the game, but when we matched for 3 games we lost all of them despite he’s pretty good and smart if it comes to tactical FPS gaming.

And I don’t want to brag how good I’m, I would say I’m jsut not stupid and I have okayish aim, and my team know how to play, but looking at avg. rank after each match, my team is always worse than the opposite.

I still like it, despite how broken MM is. No jav, people know how to play and it feels more hardcore than pub games. Once again MM sucks.

It really does.

I also hoped for more customization, like -fragger -kira, but hey, you can even bring cancer merc to ranked but repair this damn EV… I mean MM. I’m not a moses nor God, noone at my team was, but it looked like we needed someone to guide us or made winning actually happen.

which is caused by players not playing because of no limits and missing merc/weapon balancing…

This is a joke, I can say only 2 of win games were GG and maybe 1 lose was GG for the rest, it was either 4v5 or total ra.pe.

Ranked skins have never been limited to only mercs you own as far as I can remember.

Part of me wants to disagree, but the other part of me is thinking about the 4 games I played against 3 Artys and 2 medics on Chapel/Trainyard. It’s close to impossible to actually beat that stack, especially when they’re spamming Starks at each corner. Gets a bit ridiculous to be honest. Thankfully I got lucky and only lost 1 of those matches. That’s the worst kind of stack I’ve come across this season.

IMHO the main problem is that it’s very difficult for a new player to get somewhat “good” and learn how to play their role. In my experience as soon as both team consist of players with upper silver or better rank the matches are pretty enjoyable.

But when one team has to drag clueless bronze or unranked players around it soon gets frustrating.

I am seeing that the “placing parties against stronger foes” patch is ruining balance. The devs seem to be compensating too much on the other side when a 5 man team is formed. When a 5 man team is formed, even if the rank is average silver officer, the other side with 2 2-mans or 1 3 man are given an average gold agent rating (A team with a 3 rank lead). This lead to stacks more than competitive matches from my experience.
