"Randomize Squad" Challenge?

Ever since collecting all possible gen 2 loadouts, in various rarities, I’ve decided for RNG to randomize my squad.

Surprisingly, this made me appreciate my lesser used weapons on certain mercs. Like Aimee with Grandeur, or Machine Guns for Fragger or Thunder ,etc.
When I get certain merc missions, I randomize squad, til’ I get the merc required for this mission.

However, I make sure I don’t get any standard/special edition card, by checking each merc, just a little exception here.

Anyone else tried it out? It’s a great way to break the in-game meta monotony, once in a while.

Yeah I usually use Crotzni for Nader, the one with bigger blast and fail safe augment on it.

However since I’ve tried her card with the Hochfir on it, I fall in love. That gun is beast.

Well, I just got reminded that the feature even exists.

Having some ingame challenges with it would be cool tbh

Id love that but I already see the idea getting shot into pieces from the veterans and some of the game designers :frowning:

Yep. A few months ago I was finding DB a little boring (it happens from time to time when you play as much as I do) so I decided to use only cards and mercs I would never normally use. Made me appreciate almost every character in the game except Phantom. Not saying he is bad he just eh, not for me.

Started to really appreciate Bushwhacker/Blishlok, Fragger/K121, Proxy/Hollunds and full aggressive Vassili/PDP.

Yeah my only issue with this is as I unlock more mercs the randomize squad tends to give me a squad with 2 mercs filling the same role. That’s that shit I don’t like. So I just roll with mission merc and 2 other mercs at the lower end of the played time list.
