random cpu 100% cpu usage spikes

(Herr_Hanz) #1

Hi, ive been having some random game freezes since some time now, and using STAT FPS i found out that my cpu usage goes from 50-70% to 100% (the counter goes red for a milisecond after the freeze is done and then goes green again)

im using a very low graphics config,

ShooterEngine https://justpaste.it/123zd
ShooterUI https://justpaste.it/123zf

Launch options are -EXEC=autoexec.cfg -NOSPLASH -USEALLAVAILABLECORES

Autoexec:
BloomSize 0
FogDensity 0
ColorGrading 2
RawInputUpdateTest true
PostProcessAAType 0
Stat FPS
texturepoolsize 1

Specs:

CPU: i5-4690K
GPU: Nvidia GTX750Ti
RAM: 16GB DDR3
Samsung EVO 840 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD

Perhaps this is related to blackcipher.aes? They are replacing it to easyanticheat soon.

Did you check DPC?

(Herr_Hanz) #4

whats dpc?

(Herr_Hanz) #5

i assumed it was ‘dependecy per core’ or something so i turned task manager onwhile playing, this is what it looks like after a game freeze:

You can use performance monitor in windows or third party software to check what is causing spikes in your CPU usage.

as you can see by the picture my CPU isnt actually spiking, its performance drops down to 15% and i dont know what can cause that.

DPC = Defered Procedure calls

Check this out http://forums.dirtybomb.com/discussion/33580/blackcipher-ngs-shootergame-exe-are-calling-win-system-interrupts-and-causing-dpc-overstacking#latest

It could be high temperature. Do you have overclocked processor? Maybe built-in performance monitor can tell you more about this problem.
