RANDOM BAN PLEASE FIX

(peachyPorch) #1

Today i decided to boot up my computer in hope of playing a joyful game of Dirty Bomb. Yet when i launched the game from steam it loaded up and displayed a message saying that i had been suspended for two days claiming it had detected third party services or suspicious programs of sorts. I state here that i do not nor will not ever hack a video game. It is wrong and a waist of coding. I do not know why the Dirty Bomb anti-cheat has decided to ban me for two days even though i only started playing two days earlier. This really does anger me that the game has banned me for no good reason and i am here requesting to become un-banned and for the developers to fix this issue in which people are randomly suspended or detained.
My steam username is; KnO3 the O is there is the letter not the number.
I am unsure as to what my steam ID is but i’m pretty sure this is it; STEAM_0:1:65259648
I hope an administrator or someone with enough control can at least discuss this with me so i can know what has happened.

If you wish to appeal your ban you need to open a ticket with Nexon Support.

Unfortunately you will probably have to ride out the ban. I don’t think anybody has managed to have it successfully appealed yet.

Damn, i just don’t understand why it suspended me. i read the list just then. I do have cheat engine installed but that was only for this purpose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayGa0Oh8zgY

The anti-cheat can’t tell what you are using the program for. It just knows that you had it running. Because it can’t tell it decided to just shut you down.

From everything MissMurder has said so far on the forums a new Anti-Cheat provider is on the way. Hopefully these types of issues will be reduced and players will received a proper warning about potentially ban triggering software.

Okay, hopefully i can get something through the appeal. I’m just pretty mad i cannot play the game for so long.

If I were to guess, a common anti cheat system would be to check your RAM addresses to see if anything has been overwritten not done by the game. Given how OS implement paging and stuff (plus unstability in OS sometimes) memory management could be screwed up by the OS itself, which corrupts sections of memory and this corruption doesnt cause the user program to crash or the kernel to crash. In these type of scenario, you will probably be banned (for no fault of your own).

Anyway, maybe ride out the ban? it probably takes 24-48 hrs for support to reply anyway…

Yeah, ride it out for now is really the only solution for the 2day bans. Beyond that just avoid anything XIGN might decide to hate on.
