Rampant speculation time!

This is most based off the background image on the brink site, but is anyone else getting the impression of (for want of a better term) multiplayer mirror’s edge? :stuck_out_tongue:

As I see it from the concept art, there appear to be two basic teams on show:

Left side of the picture:
three figures, two of which are running, one of which appears to be carrying a pistol/one handed firearm of some kind. All are in loose-fitting colourful clothing.

Right side of the picture:
descending from helicopters, carrying two handed weapons, in armour/uniform.

So asymmetrically balanced sides (here’s looking at you ET:QW), one of which is lightly armed but highly mobile, and the other of which is more heavily armed and better equipped but who would seem to be less mobile.

In terms of actual gameplay I’m going to go ahead and guess that SD won’t move too far away from two teams battling for some form of objective, though I’d (again) guess that it will be some modified or new form rather than the progressional objective-based gameplay of ET:QW etc.

All i see on the left side of the pic is a large foot covered in a stripy sock.
If you read the stripes with a bar code reader it gives the value of 1250
which strangely enough is the weight in grams of the herring gull which can also be seen in the pic
and is also the year that is used to demarcate the beginning or ending of various eras or epochs.

Im sure if i look hard enough i could also spot Wally

This game is all about agriculture.

There’s a container marked AGRO.
And, on one of the helicopters you can read US-AG (US Department of Agriculture)

Agriculture wars!

The first trailer for Mirror’s Edge was amazing, I remember playing it back again and again just for the great soundtrack and the beautiful world displayed in it. However I haven’t played the game itself yet (is there even a PC demo?).

I guess movement is one of the few areas left where there is still a lot of room for innovation, and both of SD’s previous games have included special movement elements like strafe jumping, so I guess they are interested in taking it to the next step.

I’m really forward to see what they have come up with, a bit of gameplay at this E3 please?
