Hey guys, if you are reading this, that means you care about this game as much as I do. As we all know, DB has been lacking the new content wee so wish it had; it’s still technically in beta for crying out loud! One thing that makes this game unique is its mercs, and I want to start a thread to give one idea I had for a new merc that could be both balanced and fun to pick up and play.

Rainsford
Class- fire support/recon hybrid (recon priority)
HP- 120
Speed- 420
Same health and speed as nader

Profile-
He is a frontiersmen who has gotten so adept with his arsenal that he has no joy in hunting prey. He has now moved to London to track the most dangerous game, including the mercenary units of Jackal and the CDA. He distinctively wants to best his rival Redeye and best him after several fights between them, one of which blinded Redeye in one eye.

Ability 1: Small Ammo Packs
Cooldown- 4 seconds
Provides a half clip of ammo, can be quickly spammed (Can carry up to 8 small ammo packs, extra ammo increases to 10 total)

Ability 2: Hunting Dart
Cooldown- 13 seconds
press button to pull out blow dart gun (similar to sparks’ REVIVR)
Darts act as a hit scan projectile (like Sparks’ REVIVR, end of similarities)
On hit: enemy is spotted for 8 seconds, removed by ammo pick up instantly, and is unable to sprint for 6 seconds (also removed by ammo)
Darts deal 8 damage per shot
can carry up to 3 darts at a time

Weapons-
Primary- (New!) Double EL-Mohr (play on Elmer Fudd) basically designed after an elephant gun
Deals 8 damage per pellet, 12 pellets per round, 2 rounds per clip, and 6 spare magazines
move at 87.5% move speed of merc
takes 1.6 seconds to reload, same amount of time to reload 1 round as it does 2
.7 seconds between shots
*Also has access to rembrug-7 and ahnuld-12
Theoretically, if all pellets land in one headshot, instantly kills all mercs but rhino
Secondary- has access to both revolvers and M9

Melee- beckhill combat knife, Kukri, and cricket bat

Notes
Suggested arguments:
Sneaky, extra ammo, extra supplies, enigma, double time, escort (dead argument, but would encourage objective play; maybe add buff of +7.5% movement speed while holding melee or objective), guardian angle, looter, chopper, quick slash, untrackable, and tough

Ideal: countered by other recon/sniper mercs (rivalry with Redeye) and rhino(too much HP), counters squishy mercs under 100 hp who rely on speed in combat, as well as bests other close-range mercs like Fletcher and Phantom

The tracking dart is hard countered by any merc with the ‘hidden’ perk, but without becomes a death sentence. I’d advise testing. I do enjoy the idea of ammo being a method of removal, if only because it will encourage more being available.

Seems interesting.
