That was either fake or he is the worst Brink player ever. Here’s my response to the vid on YouTube:
Are you mocking the average hater, or are you really a hater?
You play like a noob. If you want the robot to be fixed, switch to an Engy and fix it. If you die and fixed it 20-50%, it will be still at 50% when u try again. But u just run around as an assault class.
Command posts HELP u by giving you extra health and supply pips. If you’d attempt to complete the main Obj and heal the robot, you’d appreciate the command post buffs.
Go back to Call of Duty, you squeaky clown shoe.
Ugh, what a maroon.

The AI, actually is pretty god damn awful, which is really disappointing because the ETQW AI was not, and had far more to deal with.
I played Quake 3 mods with better AI, specifically, Modifia’s “Hunt.”
Really, when I’m repairing the OBJ on the 2nd difficulty of Be More objective, my teammates run away, or jump off the ledge. Why? Who knows.
Please, no need to be ultra defensive, especially when it doesn’t fit, and especially if you’re going to use CoD as a scapegoat.
Yeah the bots are stupid, but who cares? Go play online, the way its ment to be played, with and against other players!
Bots are stupid, big deal wanna fight about it?
Just play online… however it was a funny video. XD
Their abilities seem to vary from what I’ve seen - they’ve done plenty of useful things in my games so far. Sadly though, they do mostly let themselves down - wandering around randomly, getting stuck on map corners while carrying objectives (really wish they wouldn’t pick those up) - mostly for attacking objectives, they’re pretty useless. They actually manage defending quite well it seems - for the most part
The video gets it just about right and is a true reflection of the game - anyone who takes issue with this is just in denial. The AI is truly abysmal to the point of making the offline SP unplayable. They show no sign of intelligence and, never, ever prioritise the mission objectives whilst the player has no way - thanks to a brilliant piece of game design from the genius’s at Splash Damage - to order the bots to complete tasks or even do simple things like guard or escort - meaning the player might just as well be playing the whole thing alone against the enemy bots since he or she will get zero assistance from the bots on his or her own team and has no way to organise or deploy them more usefully.
An absolute travesty for which nobody should be making apologies on behalf of Splash Damage. This is a basic game design FAIL. No excuses.
I’m gong to hold on to my copy of Brink for as long as it takes for Splash Damage to come up with some revised AI code for the offline SP matches. When they fail to do so (and in this, I feel sure, they almost certainly will) I will then get rid of this p*sspoor game once and for all (it will be unceremoniously de-installed from my Steam account). I’m already moved on (playing Witcher 2, as a mater of fact), but will check back here for news of a patch - which I’m pretty sure will be an age in coming (if at all).
I honestly dont get why people are playing SP and bitching about it. The game is made with MP in mind. Sure the SP and the bots suck, but as I said its a MP game and we all knew this before we bought it. Why are you playing SP?
Believe it or not, fella, many people like to play in offline mode against the bots - if you were ever an ET:QW player you might just remember that game was actually fun to play in offline mode (being able to order about the bots made all the difference).
Enough of this faux disbelief that anyone who has Brink might ever want to play it in offline mode against the AI. It’s one half of the game, FFS.

I own ET:QW, bought it really cheap, but I didnt really play it alot. Not because I didnt like it, but because I played other games at the time and didnt find time to get into it. But I do think that if the bots were good there then SD dont have an excuse to make them good in brink too. I saw an interview machinima respawn had with some dude from SD and he said that the bots are smart, its just that they are intentionally programmed to not do the objective so that you can do it and feel like the hero. However if you dont do it they will do it in the final 2 minutes or something. But if people precived them as stupid they would tweak it, we’ll see if they do.

Actually, the bots work out quite well for me in the campaign. They really do. They revive, complete objectives, focus on them, and generally work as a team. During the challenges, however, they are impossibly imbalanced.
The bots on your team in challenges are incredibly stupid while the bots on the other team seems decent. Did it online with 4 friends, was easy as hell when you actually got backed up while doing the objectives.
