suse 9.3 running gtkradiant 1.4 and et.
to be honest i can’t remember if i had to go through any hoops getting it up and running since it’s been a while. looked in my repository and it appears i might have had to install gtkglext beforehand, but that may have been for 1.5.
what problems are you having? maybe it’s something simple that you don’t need to change your distro for. any errors? does it install(seemingly) okay? is it installed under your user account or was it trying to install somewhere that you don’t have permission?
if it installed okay, did you try running radiant from a terminal to see if it’s spitting out errors(in the terminal that is, not the radiant console)?
GTKRadiant runs on my Gentoo system. The only problems I had was a problem with my opensource ATI driver. It was written by some portuguese guy and that guy’s name contained a special character. Result: GTKRadiant couldn’t start at all after giving some GTK error.
You should be able to see that error coming though, it give a nice popup message.
here is the error massage i get
this installation doesnt support glibc-2.0 on linux / x86_64
(tried to run setup.gtk)
please report to http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/bugzilla/
setup.gtk failed to start?
DISPLAY: :0.0
do you need to issue an xhost + command to let root access X11?
the setup program seeems to have failed on x86_64/glibc-2.0
thanks for all the help Eternex
I think you need to file a bug report as it says you’re version glibc is not supported.
