How do i clean up an older version of radient on linux systems…

I deleted the folder but now it keeps coming up with a sharing file error…

I acidentally installed a 1.2 version instead of a 1.3 so i deleted it and installed the 1.3 version but it wont execute now…

Well, I’d say uninstall 3, reinstall 2, UNINSTALL 2 INSTEAD OF DELETEING IT and then reinstall 3.

theres an uninstall for linux???

([rD]MrPink) #4

there should be.

(-=DTA=-) #5

do u run linux, because i dont believe there is…

I do have a computer running Linux, and what I think probably happened to you, is some file was about in your computer that doesn’t get installed in the same directory as Radiant itself. Certain directories have all of a certain type of file for the OS to find, somewhat like the System folder in Windows. Any program that does that should have an uninstall to remove all of the files you do not know about.

unless i have to run the program (to find the uninstall). The program doesnt work and i cant open 1.2 even if i reinstall it i cant open it due to not having q3 or wolf it wont open either…

what would the file look like for the uninstall???

([rD]MrPink) #9

I have no clue, I’ve never tried it. Perhaps its like Windows and when you run the install file it becomes an uninstall/repair. BTW, do you even have any of the programs that Radiant supports on your computer? Because if you don’t that might cause an error.

hi
u must check the link “radiant”
in /usr/local/bin.
does it point 2 right location?
otherwise search 4 any file called radiant on ur sys.

my radiant-et script:
#!/bin/sh

radiant version 1.3

cd “/usr/local/share/radiant1.3”
./radiant $*

exit $?

end script

my radiant-rtcw script:
#!/bin/sh

radiant version 1.3

cd “/usr/local/share/radiant1.2”
./radiant $*

exit $?

end script

:wink:
