radiant problem: wglMakeCurrent() failed

(MuffinMan) #1

hi folks,

got a problem: no matter which version of radiant I use - some time after starting radiant a dos window pops up "wglMakeCurrent() failed "… one or more view panes don’t work anymore then but I still can save and close radiant

I tried to reinstall directx, nvidia drivers (they were up to date already but anyway…), switched off antialiasing in the driver in general, checked if there is any additional opengl dll somewhere in the et directory and tried radiant 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 - still the same problem

I’ve been searching through lots of forums but all I get are infos on how to start doom3edit to prevent this… if this was discussed before on splashdamage I couldn’t find it because for me the forum search here is not working anymore

anybody an idea?

I got this result trough Google: Radiant crashing on loading my map (corrupt .MAP)
In that topic, Gerbil encountered that his map got corrupted and spawned this error.

In this case, GTKRadiant might try to load the map you opened last time, and causes this error due to corruption.
If that could be the problem, Radiant mostly asks you if you want to edit the preferences before it closes when an error occured. Go to “Startup” section -> uncheck “Load last map on open”. If it won’t let you do this, renaming the map might help as well. (It would just complain about “unable to load map” and show a blank, untitled one.)

read that post as well and checked my map but it’s ok and it consists of only a few brushes anyway - this is happening since the start so I wasn’t able to map anything yet …
