I need a lil help getting Radiant started (using Fedora Core 1), the install went smooth and Radiant starts up when i type radiant in the terminal console.
but thats when trouble starts, it starts off by asking what game i want to make a map for, so i choose Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (got console logging on), and then it says the last time Radiant crashed and if i want to change the configuration and quit radiant, so i click on no, but then it gives me a Initializing error. What have i done wrong?
Radiant = Bye Bye?
I think after starting radiant the first time and after choosing the game radiant has to be restarted.
also turn console logging off, radiant moans about it being on saying (it affects the performance, and it dose
BTW what is Fedora Core 1?
Fedora Core 1 is a project of Red Hat (Linux distro), anyways, i tried it with logging off, but it still doesnt work.
and radiant has been restarted over and over and over again and again and again…
i know it seems like the problem for everything but try reinstalling it
Have you ever tried loading this version of Radiant in a stable version on RH Linux? I know you are probably partial to your current OS, (I also prefer RH myself) but it may be something worth looking at if it is giving you problems with other programs as well.
Here’s a story on Core 1. I’ve heard the same whining about deps from other users…

well, i guess i could try it with Red Hat 7.3
but im positive it should work with Fedora Core 1 too (would hate to install another OS)
I had this same problem. When I installed radiant with being not root. The radiant cannot create all neccesary files because of file rights. Try installing radiant as a root.
hmm, that shouldnt be it, since before i installed it i did the su thing, oh well, will try when logged in as root
so it is too hard to say thankyou ?
never mind I’ll say it for you… Thank-you seven_dc
Sorry if you think i’m being a tit, but I hate people who can’t be bothered to say thank-you when
some-one else helps them fix a problem
Hewster
well, i guess i could say “thank you seven_de” (even did it now), but its just that i kinda hate thank you’s myself.
anyways, i got a new problem now, i’ve created a small test map, and it compiles the way it should, but when i run it, wolf:et gives me a worldspawn error (SP_worldspawn: first entity isn’t ‘worldspawn’), and that eventhough it worked before i added my last tunnel. already tried selecting every brush and doing “Move to worldspawn”, without succes. any suggestions?
