People’s names disappear as soon as they disconnect.

Also I’ve also had situations in other games where retrospectively an hour or more later I decide I really want to ask someone a question, or link them to information about something they were asking in-game, or invite them to join my clan, etc. and not being able to find who they were would be annoying.

It must store something, because everytime there is one of those config breaking patches, or I switch PC’s, something get pulled through from somewhere. Of course it’s not the stuff I actually want to sync and takes longer to put right than it actually helps. Although to be fair this may no longer be the case since the Steam move, I’ve not explicitly tested.

Sorry to say, you are incorrect.

A) Higher age doesnt make you a better admin. Higher age, doesnt make you a better player. Higher age doest make you have high skilled friends who you learn more from.
A 50 year old admin, can be just as bad as a 20 year old admin, when it comes to banning good players.

B) High skilled players get banned all the time.

This is why there is high skilled servers created (and why matchmaking is created) since high skillers playing vs noobs is not a good idea. High skillers on noob community servers will get the ban hammer.

Noobs, claim hax (when noobs see something they cant imagine being skill, like prediction), complain to higher powers (admins, semi-admins, refs) and then you are specced for 1 min to 60 min, and then you are gone.

Even if admins dont believe you hax, you are banned, since they dont want upset community members.

C) Try get better, see your skilled friends get banned, and your self banned

Bottom line:
Admins cant figure out if a high skilled player is high skilled or is cheating, regardless the age of the admin.
You need proof, or very high skill to bust someone.
If you claim otherwise, you are inexperienced.

Being skilled in not toxic, except to less skilled players who are offended, since they think the skilled one is cheating.

There are many communities who are nice communities, except when it comes to high skilled players. They cant handle them, since they cant see if its skill or cheat. Banning skilled players, wont wake their community smaller.

High skilled players are maybe 1-5% of the player base depending on year and game.

Nobody will miss 1-5%

In some games which doesnt have match making, high skilled players arent EVEN WANTED by the game devs, since high skilled players scare away beginners (and that makes devs lose money), and therefor they design the game for the beginners, so beginners wont get slaughtered as easily.

1-5% with 2-8 kd is basicly ruining the fun for many players who get 0.1-0.5 kd. (not that kd is a skill, its just a slight indicator)

All in all:

  1. Admins cant detect cheat from skill
    (unless the player is a beginner who just installled a cheat and hs everyone in 10 sec)
  2. On games without match making, skilled players is a pain for most other players (due to ownage), and are often unfairly removed (banned by admins) without people complaining about unfairness, since it “clearly” was a cheater.
  3. Servers are better without admins, according to my own opinion.
  4. GameMasters, SeniorGameMasters, who are actually hired by the devs, is better than serveradmins.

Any server with “rules” is a sh1t server, so say it in plain text.
Its a clear give away, that the admin has created his own world, where he is god, and his people, are the ones who interpret the rules to their own will. “X” is not allowed on the server? Then its fine when community people does it, or noobs does it, but its bannhammer time if someone good does it. In general terms.

So, it would be taking things back 5-10 years, in my opinion, to have server-admins, who kick for bad nicks, not playing the style the admin wants (not allowed to push to hard, or defend to hard, or similar sh1t), and not allowed to cheat (be high skilled).

When I talk about admin, I mean real admin ! Who ban only cheater and accept skilled player.
That’s why admin only kick real cheater, racists, raging kids, people without respect for other players and spamming boring people.

About rules, the game already have some ! I don’t like to add some more stupid rules.
In comp sometimes it’s needed to balance a bit but for the most part I like playing the game as it is :wink:

I play more on EUR servers because of latency… and most time on my own server… realy waiting for ded DB server…
and btw I dont compared 20 year vs 50 year… I only compared kid admins and adult…

sure everythere are “black sheeps”

for my servers: you only get banned if there is a proof for cheating…
if you would play on my server and you kill me 50 times an I you never… then bad luck for me… but this is maybe also becaus I dont care much about K/d ratio… i care more about obj… the only way I would kick/ban you for killing me is if you are in my team and you permanently teamkill me…
