r_usethreadedrenderer

Thought I would just give a headsup, dont use r_usethreadedrenderer 2.

I changed it back to 0 and getting much better minimum framerates. I can even enable Ambient Occlusion now and very rarely go under 60 fps.

For some reason in console it says 2 is default?

Change it to 0 and see what you all get in the maps with really low bits.

r_useThreadedRenderer isn’t used anymore and should be kept at the default of 0

If yours is reporting a default of 2, likely you have been tweaking it yourself or have been testing out other people’s configs
Either way, putting it back to 0 is recommended

I used the Brink Config tool to setup an autoexec which added the command. But still the console should not be saying 2 is the default regardless.

SplashDamage need to disable/lock the command as It wouldnt suprise me lots of folk have it at 2 after messing the the config tool.

configs should be created by hand, Your hand, not a tool, and not somebody else’s hand

The tool should be so that you can see the file and hand pick what you want. Same with a config sent to you by somebody else.

Also “exec myconfig.cfg” is safer than an “autoexec.cfg”. Autoexec should be reserved for explicit variables that keep resetting (but they probably do for a reason) or for things that you use during the game and you want to reset to a specific value on launch.

try:

reset r_usethreadedrenderer

but if you still have it in an autoexec, it’s going to come back.
