I am disliking your comment.
R.I.P. forum dislike button.
If we start abusing dem buttons, I think my post there is a good post to start abusing the system : P
Yep, it was removed due to over abuse by some users.
Negative impacts on other users is never really good, so it was decided that the “dislike” would be removed, due to it having a -1 rep effect.
Disagree was kept however, due to it having no actual rep impact. If there is a particularly abusive post or spam post, people can use the flag button. This was also a small problem I found from before - sometimes people would just “dislike” abusive comments, rather than report. We only get notified about reports, not dislikes. So if people report abuse/spam more often now, it will help us out a lot!
RIP dislike. Thou shalt not be missed.
I guess it was because the spam button can backfire if you report wrongly, while the dislike button left you on the safe side…
I disagreed with everyone´s comments. I feel so naughty
Just kidding, I liked everyone

I think dislike and disagree buttons are both silly. If you disagree, reply to the person and explain why you disagree. The button does nothing but discourage some people from starting threads and allows people who dislike an idea to just click disagree. Now all the people that used the dislike button are just going to press disagree instead.
I hope for the removal of both so people who don’t agree with someone are forced to explain why they don’t agree thus creating more forum content. Only bad thing is people might be a little more salty with replies since some people on here just like to yell I DON’T LIKE IT instead of thinking and contributing to the forums.

What if you started by saying something and the other person states his/her disagreement as a reply and you disagree with what that person said? Are you forced to write: I disagree. ?
Sometimes people have said all there has been to say and they do still disagree with someone else’s opinion. Likewise, removing the dislike button was stupid as removing the point penalty would have been enough. If someone proposes an idea and asks for feedback you can be certain that some people can possibly dislike an idea.
For me removing the dislike button is a way of censoring contradictive opinions and makes the internet seem like a place where everyone agrees with each other which is not how the world works. I actually don’t use Facebook as much as other people do, simply because I can’t dislike posts.
I don’t think I need it to make people feel bad, but disliking or disagreeing is constructive feedback and I myself want to know if people disliked my opinions or disagreed with them. Removing such options is restricting.
Finally, how do you explain you disagree with someone who says that yellow is the most awesome colour? You can disagree, you can even dislike the opinion, but describing it is tough. You can say the person is wrong because in this case it’s a matter of opinions and if you are stating which colour according to you is the most awesome you’re not disagreeing per se, but just showing your point of view. In situations like these and others I like to just be able to say: I disagree.
So please don’t also take that one away from us.
If there isn’t anything else to be said leave the thread alone. It’s that simple. If you have nothing to contribute but a little disagree button your input isn’t needed anymore because you have nothing else to say. Your disagree on my post changed nothing therefore it wouldn’t matter if it was removed.
How hard is it to just not reply? Do you really need the last word or “click”? Also why the hell would you ever consider the ranking of colors a topic worthy of discussion? I can tell you right now anyone who was serious about a thread like that only comes to these forums to hear themself talk.
This is a forum for discussing things not a playground for you to yell your opinion at everyone and hope they agree with you. You don’t need those two buttons and if you feel like you’re being oppressed because the removal of it you need to rethink the reason you come to these forums.

I believe you need to rethink your reason to be in any forum if you can’t take criticism and people disagreeing with you. Besides the colour topic was only an example between many and if you snoop around this forum in particular you’ll actually find many cosmetic centred discussions, so I’m not in the wrong with that assumption.
Finally, according to you if I disagree with your opinion I should just leave? That doesn’t make sense. You just want a place where you can say what you want without the fear of being disagreed with and that’s pitiful.
Oh and for the record, since I don’t have a button for it. By now I just don’t disagree with your opinion, I frankly dislike it, especially if you think that my previous post had nothing to contribute.
