r_debugSurfaces and Patches

(MadJack) #1

I can’t seem to find a way to help me fix some sparklies that obstinately want to remain in the map no matter what I do. I used to be good at sparklies killing but this is beyong me…

Anyway, I found this nifty little debug cvar -> r_debugSurfaces but except from the message it displays I can’t find a way to pinpoint the problem. I know there’s a problem with a certain patch (not the one shown) but I can’t get how I can use it except with the obvious point to a surface and it’ll highlight and tell you if there’s something wrong with it. (which I most likely know because of sparklies).

So, anyone knows how to use that?

Here’s what it looks like when r_debugSurfaces is at 1. The blue part will follow the reticle… The message I get is “winding chopped away by border planes”.

I have no idea, however, I love the tie-dye background. I just had to comment.
