Quick Test map download

(contenu) #1

ok somone asked for this map. its a simple map. i made it just a few mins ago. now the problem people seem to be having is the limbo menu to cause ET to freeze when you try to go into it. to fix this you need to set map cords. this can be done by going into the entity menu. ‘press N’ and how i did it i went down to world spawna and set the cords, using the battery ones i found around on forums. to do this type in mapcoordsmaxs in the key window and then put in 7296 -6400 for the value this will set the max cords for the mins mapcoordsmins and put in value window -768 1664

right click and save as. for the map file put in your \Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\maps dir

also you have to compile this in rad. since i just started using it today i dunno how to make paks and what have you.

that works now although i saw nothing because there is no light at all

perhaps my map is too small to spawn, is that possible? it is only 800 x 800 …

im gonna have to say most likely you put your spawn outside your actuall map area. thats prolly why everything is dark, that or you put the light outside the map area.

a PK3 file is just a Winzip file.

The mapcoordsmaxs and mapcoordsmins really should come from your map. In the X /Y view the dox suggest putting your cursor over the top left corner (mapcoordsmins) of the map and then the bottom right (mapcoordsmaxs). It will give you the coordinates at bottom. Enter that info into the worldspawn keys.

Thanks. Works great and shows me how to get started. Now onto incorporating WWII stuff.

Like Jim said (and it’s in the level designers guide) it’s best to measure your own map and use those values rather than something else. Personally I start by making a big brush outside in the void that’s basically a box the size and shape of my level’s extents and I get the values from this. Kind of a like a virtual table top to put my war models on
