If someone were to report this guy, could I get banned by accident. Apparently someone is smurfing as me in matchmaking.

No. A players in-game name is tied to your Steam ID (not a name) which is then tied to a Nexon account. When they see the report of the player in question they won’t be going strictly off of the name but by the SteamID associated with it which won’t match yours. They will then proceed to ban his Nexon account which will also not match yours.
