Quick join puts me on the wrong servers

(Atagi) #1

I want to play on servers of my region and not on servers far away were I have to play with a high ping. In shooter games its really bad to have a high ping. This morning I was put on the RUS servers where people use cyrillic letters and talk russian on the voicechat. I don’t have a problem with them but I don’t want to play there.

Can you give quick join more settings for example server region?

Sometimes it puts me in a game that just ends or has only a few seconds left. It’s good for the daily missions so I don’t have to play this modes again but it doesn’t make sense to put people in games that are already over when they join. It’s only a waste of time.

Why dont you use the server browser? If you don’t mind me asking…

Was talking to Sniff about this earlier, and I find it ironic that the main point of the Quick Play system is to find games with the lowest ping possible, and it always puts you in a region as far away as the moon.

Would just stick to the Server Browser with a couple of filters rather than the Quick Play button, less of a hassle anyhow…

I thought quick join was there to save the hassle of searching for a game yourself?

I mean, yea, that is the intended purpose, but it does so by finding the lowest ping game it can find.

If there are no games in your region, which isn’t unusual at hours where the region actually sleeps, the quick join puts you on the next region.

That sounds like “Quick join is broken just don’t use it”. I don’t want to explain why I use the quick join… the name quick join already says enough.

By the way the server browser is also broken:

That can’t be true. Why would it open a new match on the different region instead of a match in my region?

My guess is that the ping loads too slow so it won’t get checked. I also think there are other matches but it just puts me in a different region because the ping loaded too slow and was counted as the lowest ping.[/left]

@Atagi You tried to join a full game, sometimes it doesn’t show the last one. Not sure how that makes the server browser broken. Join one another one where the numerator is smaller than the denominator.

(Jostabeere) #9

Uhm…You join already started games via quickjoin if there are no lobbies free.

(Atagi) #10

So its broken if it shows incorrect information. I tried to refresh and join again but it still shows incorrect information.

Then it puts me in a new game in a different server location where no players are playing. I don’t want to join games without players.

There are no available EU Min 10 Servers.

Quick join has an RNG system built into it, which selects region in a manner similar to that of the case openings.

For a typical EU player such as myself the rates are something as follows.

Australia [80.0%]
Asia [15.0%]
South AM [3.0%]
US [1.5%]
Russia [0.4%]
EU * [0.1%]

*Better suited connection but less chance of joining populated servers

And for anyone outside of Europe who uses quick join.

Australia [0.0%]
Asia [0.0%]
South AM [0.0%]
US [0.0%]
Russia [0.0%]
EU [100%]

But seriously SD Could take the opportunity to take the region selection from the Ranked Match menu and add it in to Quick Join for the people that like to use Quick Join

Or you could follow this little guide I wrote up and set up your server browser filters so you only get shown servers in your region…

If you didn’t know quick join also puts you on servers without level restrictions…

Yea it would be good to have an option for the region. Thanks for the guide.
