Every time I quickjoin stopwatch or objective I get thrown into an empty server. Anyone else with this bug? Servers are available with players from the server browser.
Quick Join - Empty Server
I recall someone saying quick join prioritises empty servers over servers with people in them for some reason. Just use the server browser.
It doesn’t prioritize them, but it likes to not completely fill servers anymore. If a server has 1-2 slots left it may not pick it because too many people were getting the issue of an error on joining because quick had already assigned that slot to somebody else.
If it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME then that is a different story.
Well it DID help me break my quick join bad habit. Now I use the server browser like a proper civilized lady.
I’m an adult![/quote]
I threw the matchmaking on the ground! I’m not a part of your system!
Yep, got it every single time since a week or two. Started after some backend-maintenance. Also rarely someone else joining a server, when waiting/idling there. So back to the serverbrowser. Don’t care anymore.
Well that’s just silly. The system should receive the client query, lock the slot, confirm the slot with the client and then allow it to join. A side-effect of that sort of policy is promoting server population imbalance. Filling servers should be the priority.
When you setup the server browser with the filters you want it’s much better than using Quick Join. They aren’t going to be able to put much dev time into fixing it up to work perfectly while still putting in needed features for the game. So if Quick Join is annoying you simply use the server browser with filters. It’s awesome.
Oh I’m just mentioning it, I can get into games either way. The reason I use quickjoin is because it allegedly uses skill “ranking” or whatnot as part of the qualifier where it seeds you. I’d much rather have long close games than lopsided fish in a barrel matches.
Consequently it seemed to work later on in the evening but there was a good 2 hours I was getting tossed into empty servers which is something that should never happen. Just drop me back to the menu.

Quick Join does not use skill ranking. If you are level 5 or below it will prioritize Max Level 5 servers. If you are 10 or above it will prioritize Min Level 10 servers. Other than that you will be placed on a server that has spots open or put on a new server that will have spots filled (hopefully) quickly.
The only time people are sorted by skill is when a map is over and you enter a new lobby. The game factors in your last 10 matches and sorts both sides according to those hidden ELO ratings. What sucks about that though is this is when people tend to leave the server. And new people joining up are placed on the team with the fewest players first or the attacking team if both teams have the same amount of players…no ELO is factored in here.
I also think Quick Join is being affected by the ghost player server bug that is a lot more rare but still happens now. Even when joining from the server browser you can join what looks to be a 10 out of 12 player match and end up with it being just you.
@cornJester I now do the same too… ever since the changes to it, I’ve never looked back to quick-join. Server browser is the way to go, anyway c:
Yeah, I’ve encountered the ghost player servers in server browser repeatedly when I initially had started playing, the last few I’ve joined this hasn’t been an issue.
Yea I,ve Run Into It Too But No Biggie I Just Started Useing The Server Browser B)
