Quick compile to test lighting

(=SC=Beef) #1

Ok, this is my 1st map, and i want it to be pretty decent.
I have the basics done, and im lighting it up to get a nice feel, but compiling just to test how 1 light works is demoralising.

So what is the quickest comiple method avaliable to test lighting (a link will do)

Also an extremelly detailed tutorial on lighting (again a link will do)

tkx guys!!

Try light -fast.

if it’s a light or a number of lights for a small section of map, i usually copy the geometry of that section to a test map and append a _lights.map to the end(just for clarity). then i build the lights and test it to see if it’s working right. when it’s done i copy the lights back in to the main map.

when you do it this way, try not to mess with any of your geometry, just work on the lights.

Just put a lot of lights in and then compile. You can change them after that if u dont like the effect. Having a testcompile just for 1 new light entity will make u test for years…
