I’ve been looking at the recent changes to the UI and character selection screen, and for the most part, I think it is in the right direction. The thing I would like to focus on are the character summary pages, the pages where it lists the character, a quick bio, and the 7-8 things about them. For the most part, I feel that a lot of the presentation is filler and wasted space. You have the weapons, followed by the abilities and tools - and for the most part - everyone has the same tools. A clearer, simpler, and more direct approach would be better. If you removed all of the repeated tools and instead used score values for certain statistics, it would give a better idea of the strengths of the character.
For Example:
Top half of the Character Card consists of the picture and bio
*Primary and Secondary Gun
*Ability 1
*Ability 2
*Ability 3
Attributes
Health: *** [Colored Green]
Power: ** [Colored Red]
Range: ** [Colored Blue]
Ammo: ** [Colored Yellow]
Talents
Hack: * [Colored Purple]
Technician: * [Colored Brown]
Demolition: *** [Colored Orange]
In the end, out of those 7-8 “icons” we see, only 3-4 are of any importance/relevance. if you look here, you can see a quick graphic summary of Attack, Defense, Ability, Difficulty of a character from League of Legends: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Aatrox . Have something similar for the characters here, and expand it to include how well they can complete objectives.
In all honesty, if I didn’t play ETQW and Wolf:ET, I wouldn’t have a clue who is good at what here with the current presentation.
