Questions about "sprinting grenade".

(Punisher_ITA_) #1

Tried to use the search function but I didn’t find anything.

  1. Does it allow to throw all the grenade type (ex. Molotov, EMP, Lazzaro, etc.) or just the standard frag. grenade?
  2. Is it usable with “shoot at grenade” ability? Do you manage to sprint, throw and then shoot or is it better to pick just one of these two abilities?
  3. Is it worth it for a solider with molotov and napalm?
  4. If you had the last point to spend to an ability would you choose “flashbang grenade” or “sprinting grenade”, considering you already have (molo+)napalm+satchel as soldier abilities.

Thanks.

Goodbye.

Um, my flashbang is 1000x more valuable than the lame napalm grenade. I would respec if I were you and pick the Molotov, Flash, and Satchel. Or, if you want to be all offense, I’d switch Satchel with Napalm.

The Flashbang is a great room-breaching tool. Throw the Fbang in there, get your 90-150+ XP to know how many people it affected, run in guns blazing vs a bunch of blind people. Fbang is also a great escape tool as well. If you’re overwhelmed, you can Fbang and retreat.

To answer your Q though, I’d take the Sprinting Grenade if I only had 1 point.

(iezza) #5

i personally dont see it as immensly effective flashbang. but every man to his own

(SinDonor) #6

I get many kills after I flashbang a room, I wish BRINK would keep those stats.

(iezza) #7

swapped satchel out for it, better be good. Or ELSE!

(Punisher_ITA_) #8

Does flashbang give you so many points flashing enemies?

(Punisher_ITA_) #9

BTW it was… Spriting Grenade! Thank you all! No more point to spend now (but please, answer to flashing grenade question)!

(iezza) #10

yeah 60 per flash i think it is.

(FireWorks) #11

As the others already posted: a) The sprinting nade is a must and b) the flashbang is a lot better then the satchels or napalm. Personally I run with molo, flash and napalm.

You get 30XP per flashed enemy. Makes it the most XP bringing tool too

I never liked the sprinting grenade, since I used the sprint button to cancel my grenade throws before. I mean ever start charging up a frag grenade in anticipation that there is an enemy in the next room, but it turns out there is no one? Yeah, just tap sprint and put the grenade back in. … Of course you can still do that with the melee button after getting the skill, but it is a lot smoother with the sprint button imo.

Thanks for the answers (so 30XP? I think this is correct).

I add two questions:
5) Does grenade shooting works with Claptrop or EMP? I think not. So is it still worth for Tech.\Operative?
6) Does spriting reload is a must have too with Tech.\Operative?

Thanks a lot.

(SinDonor) #14

I average around 60XP per flash, but I get 150+ sometimes when flashbangin’ a defended Obj area.

Just my opinion but Sprinting Grenade, Grenade Shooting, and Sprinting Reload are MUST HAVES on all characters regardless of class. I think every universal ability except sense of perspective and the buff identifier are.

(R_Shackelford) #16

Sprinting Reload is a must for everyone.

In order of importance, for me at least:

#1: Sprinting Reload (one of the first skills I buy if starting a character from Level 1)
#2: Grenade Shooting (pretty handy, but can sometimes be improvised with good cook timing. I really like having it for when people are throwing nades at me while I’m shooting at them and they blow up in their face)
#3: Sprinting Grenade (not all that important to me… I only get it when I feel like I’ve got a spare point, or if I’m building a Soldier… I can usually stop sprinting for the three or four seconds it takes to cook)

(Punisher_ITA_) #17

But grenade shooting doesn’t work with Claptrop or EMP, right?

Anyway thanks a lot for your answers.

they dont need to, both activate for their desired purpose on contact with the ground

(FireWorks) #19

QFT

Caltrops and EMP dont work with gren shooting but are both the most useful ops skills.

I agree that I would rank Sprinting Grenade #3 in order of importance out of that list of skills, but it’s still extremely useful. Of course you can stop sprinting to cook your nade, but IMO this doesn’t allow you to get the drop on enemies as much. If you get to an area first and know enemies will be there you can sprint with the grenade cooking and toss it right as they run into a room. A good example of this is on defense in Resort. When you spawn you can go into Fashionista, start cooking in the main room, and toss as you enter the hallway right as usually 2+ members of the offense are running into that room towards the primary and 2ndary objectives.

IMO, Sprinting Grenade is to Grenade Use as Sprinting Reload is to Shooting. It’s just that you throw less grenades in comparison to shooting bullets so it ranks lower. This game is all about being on the move and frequently as quickly as possible. Slowing down for a few seconds to cook that nade can put you at a disadvantage.
