Questions about Hunter's Ability

I was playing Hunter the other day and I noticed some things about his ability that confused me.

So I was wondering:

  • How does the crossbow charge mechanic work? Does it affect the speed and trajectory of the bolt or just the speed?
  • What is the damage of an uncharged bolt?
  • Are fired bolts affected by jumping/long-jumping
  • If you headshot a Proxy in the forest and there is no medic to rez her, does she still make a sound?

In order:
Crossbow charge affects all kinds of lovely things. Damage and velocity scale with charge (presumably linearly). Because the velocity changes, the trajectory changes. It takes more horizontal distance to drop the same vertical distance, at least according to real world physics. God knows what spaghetti code gets it to function in game.

Uncharged is 32 (64 on a headshot). Full charge is 80 (160).

Physics says they should be. Code could be anything. Reasonably irrelevant because the inherited velocity would be comparatively small, and spread makes them fly randomly. Keep those feet on the ground, soldier.

Only if you don’t bury the body.
