[QUOTE=Jimmy James;360607]I’m not a big fan of grenades in general but I want to build a grenade-based soldier to try it out and I have a few questions:
I’ve been using a Gerund AR with an Underslung Grenade Launcher with good effect but I can’t launch a grenade while sprinting. Will the Sprinting Grenade ability allow me to use the Underslung Grenade Launcher while sprinting?
Similarly, do the Grenade Damage, Grenade Mastery, and Frag Blast abilities affect the grenades launched from the Underslung Grenade Launcher?
Finally, is there any way to use Grenade Shooting in conjunction with the Underslung Grenade Launcher? I’d like to try this ability out (a lot of people say its really useful) but does it make the Underslung Grenade Launcher superfluous?
Thanks for any insight,

i think all your points have been covered, but as someone who rocks the gerund with the USGL (rokstedi too), i’ll chime in…
sprinting grenade does not allow you to launch on a sprint. i thought it would. it does not. sometimes (most/all?) it seems to cancel out the grenade launch (and reminds me to let up on the L2 trigger (console) to launch the grenade. but, i find i rarely want to launch my USGL on a dead sprint…more of a support tactic, so timing is more important than speed, especially in FF-on matches.
all the grenade upgrades benefit USGL, but sometimes the animations do not reflect this (i.e. they look like normal grenades - but the bug appears to be graphical and not stats/dmg based (i.e. they seem to have normal (incr.) damage)
on PC, my understanding is you cannot shoot enemy grenades w/ grenade shooting. (on ps3, this is either a bug or a designed feature - i.e. i can shoot enemy grenades). while it is possible that you might be able to shoot your USGL grenade after launching it, since it explodes on impact, it’s not really that necessary, and i’ve gotten pretty good at USGL “headshots” - which are, shall we say, impactful on the receiving player(s). grenade shooting seems to be an exploitable skill for closer range (i have not used it for such), but the USGL works better as a support tool (e.g. the engineer is removing the charge OR controlling a chokepoint) since it has even better control re: the point of impact/explosion.
i really like the upgraded grenades with soldier and the USGL, in particular on support role objectives… my .03
