I see alot of BR and EU people joining American servers too. It’s not Americans at fault, it’s the average internet user with low competence.
I saw a BR guy with 200 +/- ping who was warping like crazy (likely spiking, but I was busy playing) and explained that he could join a south american server and some teammate of mine got all on my case about it and wouldn’t stop arguing. He insisted that the lagger was the “best player in the server” with about 2k score near end-game and he was the 2nd to last person on enemy team. This all coming from a guy who was last place on our team with about 2k as well. All this while I had over 10k and was top of the boards. He simply doesn’t understand internet gaming and the concept of choosing a server where the ping is suitable to you. I had this kid complaining at me in voice chat for about 5 minutes.
I’d be willing to bet that 90% of us americans that end up in EU servers got there through quick join. 75% of the time I use quick join on stopwatch its an EU server

I even made a guide on how to use filters in server browser just set that up once and you are good to go, no need to use the unreliable quick join again, until it gets fixed obviously. Comp has the filters for region so should quick join.

@SiegeFace Sometimes, in my case anyways, I am stuck with a choice of an EU Server with under 100ping but above 50 or not playing at all until a US Server finally opens up (which sometimes has dragged on for 5-10mins of waiting around when I did). So I dunno if it can be completely attributed to using the “quick join” ( it feels to me like some of it can be attributed to lack of available servers on some days) it isn’t a problem that comes up often, but it does on occassion.

Quite a few people… as its plainly an issue that people stick to quick join or don’t filter out servers based on what region they are in.

So because people are ignorant of something, that makes them stupid…nice!, Everyone needs a little educating here and there, and it was not obvious for me i spent a lil while just playing around with the filters until I found enough and then decided to make a guide on it.
Because, its not spelled out for you, yes it is simple but not obvious as it doesn’t tell you what you can and cannot filter by. The guide is there to cut out the pointless time wasted figuring it out for yourself…which brings me to the next point

It is a resource for learning things, not everyone has time to figure things out, and if something as simple as a small guide can help someone save time, whilst also improving there experience and finding servers better suited to there location, how on earth is that a bad thing? xD
Never have run into that problem, apart from 6vs6 servers filling up quite rapidly of course. Not saying it cant or wont happen, maybe there just aren’t enough servers in other locations that are not EU… I don’t know, but it is an issue.
maybe a bit off topic but the filter in server browser is broken… when you type EU it actually does show only servers starting with “EU”. However if I type in “EU - obj” it gets messed up and it won’t show all the EU - objective servers…5-6 patches ago it worked… now it doesn’t.
Odd, I’ve played and played and I’m level 11, maybe almost 12 and I’ve never had this issue besides ONE time when it was about 5AM CST. All US servers were full or empty, and this was only for a specific game mode.

Well, it’s not hard to check the appropriate boxes then easily find a server. There aren’t THAT MANY servers once you select a game mode and ping range. If you wanted to further eliminate servers you don’t wish to join you could easily type something like “6v6” or “AUS” and find a server very quickly. All that other stuff seems pretty unnecessary.

I agree it’s a big issue, as previously stated I tried to help a guy get on a server where he has better ping and was given an attitude by a teammate for doing so.
I never said because someone is ignorant it makes them stupid. You need to learn the difference between ignorance and stupidity. The word “dense” is more of a “lighter way” to say something. Ignorance is not knowing something and stupidity is when you know something but don’t exhibit behavior as if you do. This is the issue with the internet, everyone is suddenly an expert now on everything while ironically being wrong at 99% of what they post. Nobody wants to learn on their own or try things out, they want to be fed every bit of information and be absolutely lazy. People don’t search for their problems or give an error code, they just say they “have a problem”. It’s an incredibly easy thing to use the existing filters and search bar in the game, the developers took the time to add this nice feature and it’s a bit bothersome that people aren’t even making use of it because of unwillingness to try things and learn on their own.
It’s cool that you made a guide for people, that’s nice of you… I was simply stating it’s so simple that people shouldn’t need to read a guide. It’s nothing against you posting a guide, but against people who require being spoonfed simple information.
Searching through a forum then reading a lengthy post on how to do something unnecessary then trying to apply it in-game takes longer than simply checking the box for the mode you want, the ping threshold and double-clicking a server. Another thing is no matter how well your guide is written, a large amount of the people will still refuse to read it because it’s “too long” or “too much to read”. No matter how useful the information is or how well-written something is, people seem to quite often ignore threads. It is a well-done guide too but I wish they had code box BBcode. I actually wrote a pretty long guide to another game and most people told me it was too long so they didn’t read it – this includes people who constantly ask me for advice and help improving their gameplay.
Also, this is pretty off-topic. This is supposed to be about finding information about hitboxes and hit registry in DB to improve gameplay performance.
