Question

(.FROST.) #1

Does it make sense to re-install BRINK on the PC? I loved the game very much but considered myself playing it way toooo much, so I de-installed it ~4 months ago. But every once in a while I think of it and the great artstyle(though I’m not missing the horrible balance between Sec and Res).

My question is actually; are there still enough players on the PC so it’s worth to risk another relapse?

I’d guess that there is a full game half of the day, and the other half of the day is a mixture of bots and people.

I wish people would play on servers that don’t have bots. I would play a lot more if I could play a 4v4 humans only or something. Brink is better in every way on PC, but I do miss the no-bot, FF on community on PS3. Bots also make the game more defensively biased as well, since bots are better at defending than attacking.

30+ players. If you love it why not?

Note: that’s 30+ US players and 3 EU players.

About 1/3 of them are in 1/8 games (ie: playing by themselves)
Currently there is 1 decently full versus game (11/16) and 1 kinda full co-op (5/8)

So if you really love the game go for it but that is a crazy small community and you’d better like everyone in it because those are the only people you’ll be playing with / against (you’d better hope none of them are cheaters too).

Thanx guys for your answers, I’ve read them with a crying and a laughing eye. After AvP3 it was the only shooter that kept me around for quite a while. The only thing that will probably get me back in MP(aside from my flight sim, DCS A-10C) will be the Mass Effect 3 MP since I prefer to play themed shooters, preferably set in the sc-fi genre(and yah, I know that ME3 MP isn’t a “real” shooter). So no chance here BF3 and MW. Though they look cool I’m just not tempted to pick them up. They are so realistic, visually, that they look boring to me.

PS: At the end of next week I’ll fly over to the UK for vacation, any chance to visit you guys at SD? Maybe get my copy of BRINK signed?

Ok, I did it. I’m back in the saddle again. I re-installed BRINK yesterday and what should I say, there were some strong feelings involved and maybe a tear or two when I shoot the first guy point blank in the face. It was like meeting an old friend of wich you didn’t knew how much you missed him until you “carbed” him down and threw a 'nade after him, just to be sure
It was fun and those few vets wich are still playing this game have gotten pretty good. Guess I’ll stay around for a while.

You should look at Gotham City Imposters.
Matchmaking is a little slow to organise people together (but it seemed a lot better last night) but the game is a great little shooter. Fun and slick,

I wouldn’t advise anyone buying GCI yet. I would wait till some big patches are done.
