I know i’m gonna get chewed out but , How do I even launch the map editor ?

Heh heh, you need a seperate program called Radiant to create/compile maps for et consumption. (its not built-in like Doom3/Quake4) There’s different versions with different features, but most tute’s are aimed at 1.4.0. A recent link from here should still be good.
