Question for Chruker or anyone who knows

(Flippy) #1

Hey,

On Chruker’s scripting reference, the ‘attachtotrain’ command is written as:

attatchtotrain

Is this a spelling error? I might be stupid but the word is “attach”, not “attatch” right? :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem is that I can find examples of both spellings :S

And “attachtotag” is deffinately without the extra t…

Which one is correct?

Also have found attatchtotrain:

To make sure you could test both versions.

EDIT: Ok, it does seem there is a spelling error in the code. Which means you’ll have to use attatchtotrain, even though it contains the spelling error.

Strange that no level scripter at SD noticed it…

Not sure any more if I typed it or copied it from source.
Will have a look.

Edit:

/game/g_script.c:

  • [li]line 65:
    [/li]
    qboolean G_ScriptAction_AttatchToTrain( gentity_t* ent, char *params );

    [li]line 168:
    [/li]
    {"attatchtotrain", G_ScriptAction_AttatchToTrain},

So it is attatchtotag actually…
I wonder why? It can hardly be a spelling error since it is made several times?

(kamikazee) #6

No, “attach to tag” is attachtotag.
Only “attach to train” was incorrectly written as attatchtotrain.

(FireFly) #7

Nope, It’s attachtotag, and that would be the correct spelling in english…
attatchtotrain was only written wrong in the code.

EDIT: kamikazee typed faster than I did :stuck_out_tongue:

(Flippy) #8

Oops, sorry, I meant attatchtotrain instead of attachtotag in my last post

But, it is typed more than once in the code…? So how can it be a spelling error? :stuck_out_tongue: Unless they noticed it and decided to keep using it so they didn’t have to change it or whatever… doesn’t make sense :stuck_out_tongue:

(FireFly) #9

Well, my guess is that It probably was the same coder that created the spelling error and kept using it: Reason why it wasn’t discovered could be that this piece of code was never used in the released maps afaik… Therefor no-one noticed…

Btw: the et code does / did contain a few more errors, most of them are already fixed by the etpro team…

Good Day folks
It was used for the garage doors in fueldump.
