Is there any discussion or consideration of player run community servers for dirty bomb? I think it would be a great idea for people to have community servers with custom plug-ins, and I think it would bring a lot more people to the game. Kind of like how counter-strike implements it, but without hiding it away. I would honestly love to have community servers on this game… people could even create different game modes and add their own custom maps for a zombies mode, capture the flag, etc. Just thought that I would ask because I’m very hopeful that this game will have it eventually
Question: Community Servers?
A lot of people would love to see community servers, and while Splash Damage has mentioned that it is something they are planning, it doesn’t seem like it is going to be any time soon unfortunately.

thanks for the info. really wish they would bump it up a bit on their priority list but that’s just me
According to their latest video the community is more concerned with the lack of controller support though.
Came up (again) on a recent community stream and sounds like it’s something that is still very much in planning stages rather than active development. Unfortunately :’(
I think its more to do with the fact that implementing controller support is a quicker task then setting up community servers. so it would be done first.
But then again why would you need a controller support?
I mean I know some people prefers and do better with sticks than keys but mouse aim will clearly gave more advantage

Sad it’s one of the most reported “issues” on Steam :’(
Briefly addressed and quickly dismissed. GG SD B)

The aren’t adding controller support, infact they REMOVED the controller support that the game use to have on purpose.
Not sure why people would want to be able to rent servers. If they only want to allow certain people in then we already have private servers as an option, and if you aren’t going to be able to get any extra content like new maps, or modes made by the community then it is pointless, you might as well just play on the retail servers.
Currently the only real benefit of having a rented server is to abuse admin.
Too bad the dream is crushed. SD really needs to push into high gear for content creation then as they’ve just sunk any dreams of there being any player/community content.
