Question about type of game

(crazyfoolish) #1

Hi at first when i saw brink i thought it looked like an absolutely awesome game. To me it looked like a cross between mirrors edge and typical first person shooters.

However, apparently this is not the case. I have heard from a friend that brink belongs to a subclass of games where players dash round madly and where it takes about 20 shots to kill someone.

As i am getting slightly sick of the slow paced nature of cod is brink a cross between mirrors edge and a typical fps or is it one of these 20 shots to kill games?

thanks.

have a look on container city trailer, there you have some ingame scenes. So you can make your own opportunity.

It definitely doesn’t take 20 HITS to kill one, but shots…well depends on your personal abilities and on technical circumstances :stuck_out_tongue:
I guess your friend was just exaggerating
It is said to take 3-4 headshots to kill one and up to 8 bodyhits.

It’s mildly meant to be a mix between an FPS and mirrors edge, just using it as comparison because it’s more or less the only game featuring parcour movement what so ever.

From my point of view it’s definitely going to be faster than cod, but in the meantime - if you want a fast game you should give ET a shot…or if you’re some kind of masochist try quakelive :stuck_out_tongue:

having watched the container city this speed seems to suit me. Not so sure about 4 head shots to kill someone. Rules out absolutely anything associated with sniping.

Oh well i look forward to running round crazily with an SMG

Singleshot weapons will obviously take less hits to down a target (at least it should be that way:P) because of reduced rate of fire (what good as accuracy on distance, the only factor which a weapon would also benefit from apart from bigger clips…(makes sense with low rate of fire xD), if the weapon deals low damage over time:)

its team-game.
so like previous SD game, called Quake War[aka ETQW], gameplay is trongly focused around co-operation, as well as around scenario.
with huge amount of immersion/dynamics, as promised.
i hope.
